Recently RE-watched it, almost more enjoyable the second time around. HELL of a fricking show.

shite is incredible.
Possibly the best thing Ben Stiller has ever done movie wise.

Not sure if it has been brought up, but why is everything inside Lumen dated? The computers are pretty old and there is a very 70’s vibe. That wasn’t accidental.

We have no clue.
Where do you think Mark's wife is in real life?
This one of the best shows to come out in years to me.
It was absolutely brilliant.

exactly what the hell was this?
Its in the opening credits too so it has to be somewhat important.

The only question I have, though, is why do some people look at this as such a horrific thing to do?
The people at work (innies) are basically slaves.
They get on the elevator and the next second they are walking back into work, it never ends.
Your consciousness at work would become absolutely miserable, with never ending work on end.

Well that last episode delivered. No wonder Helly was such a bitch to herself.
Her being an Eagan was fricking wild, I did not see that coming.

This is bullshite I have to wait to watch a season 2. This thread was started a year and half ago!
Have a free trial of Apple+ and I just binged the entire first season in one day it was so good. I’m hooked on thrillers at the moment so don’t know how this one fell thru the cracks for me and was like the 5th show in line on Apple TV I picked up on. how in the hell is season 2 not out yet?

With the strike, there’s no telling when or if it will come out. Everything is on the block with this deal. I just saw Prime cancelled The Periferal. Shows that are actually good are being axed.

the black paint?
I assumed that it was some kind of crossover hallucinations from his real life, because he is painter that paints mostly in black.

Don't worry we will still have plenty of firemen, cops and CSI shows to go around

Creative types fighting with each other. And that was before the strikes.

Coincidentally I was recently looking for similar information on Season 2 myself and ran across this, which I believe has been updated since that A.V. Club article:
quote:
When Does Severance Season 2 Premiere?
While various reports and rumors mentioned an early 2024 release, production on Season 2 shut down in May, shortly after the WGA strike began. We probably won’t know any more about a possible premiere date until at least after the strikes have been resolved.
Why Was Severance Still in Production in May?
A fair question, considering it had already been over a year since the first season had ended. The extra-long production time on Season 2 is likely related to reports of behind-the-scenes strife at the show. Showrunners Dan Erickson and Mark Friedman had not gotten along during the production of Season 1, to the point of not communicating to one another. After executive producer Ben Stiller tried and failed to hire someone to replace Friedman between seasons, Stiller brought Friedman back, and the situation did not improve, with reports of scripts that had to be scrapped and budgets ballooning to $20 million per episode. Stiller reportedly brought in House of Cards' Beau Willimon to help finish the second season's scripts and to help set things up for Season 3.
Will There Be New Cast Members in Season 2?
Yes! It's been announced that Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Merritt Wever (Tiny Beautiful Things), Bob Balaban (The Chair), Robby Benson (the voice of the Beast in Disney's original Beauty and the Beast), and John Noble (Fringe) will be joining the cast in Season 2.

POTENTIAL SPOILER: (I guess?)
quote:
Showrunner Dan Erickson did a Reddit AMA where he assured fans that the answer to the mystery was not going to be that everything inside Lumon is some sort of simulation. "The office is real," he said. "It exists physically and everything we see there is actually happening (except the black goo, which is Irv's dream)."

huh, I just realized that this is why they try to deter them from snoozing or dozing off. Might have been obvious, but it just clicked for me. They don't want their real lives spilling over from their dreams.

Does Apple TV put out anything bad.
Just started Severance because of this board. Had a 3 month trial.
Drops of God was one of the best shows I’ve watched this year.
Black Bird was phenomenal with great acting from both lead guys
