I think Chuck is definitely up there. Nearly the entire ensemble is likable, making it great rewatch. I’m mean, who doesn’t fricking love Jeffster?

As opposed to a show like Breaking Bad . While a great show, I fricking hated nearly all the characters. It shows how great the writing really was.

This is up there. Every episode was just a fun watch because the characters were likeable....

Especially Heather Thomas....

Cheers

even a character you were not supposed to like, Robin Colcord, or the upstairs restaurant owner, or even Gary from Gary's Old Town Tavern, all were still likely in their own way

And don’t forget Markie Post was on The Fall
Guy, which brings me to two more nominations from the same time period…

Night Court - with Markie Post. Every character was flawed, but extremely likable….especially Dan.

The A-Team - here were four guys on the run, wanted for a crime they didn’t commit…but if you were in trouble, and you could find them dammit they’d help you out (and often for free). Sure, one of them had a “bad attitude” but they were all loyal to a fault and fought for good.

Fwiw - I thought about adding Cheers to this, since I was in an 80s time period, but the more I thought about it the aforementioned three shows didn’t have central characters who were antagonists/foils … whereas Diane Chambers was an absolute nutcase B.

I say this with all seriousness, the later seasons of Jersey Shore. Besides Ronnie, they all kinda seemed to grown into adults who would probably be a pretty good hang.

Diane Chambers

Was a chore to watch but that was her role....We understood Sam's frustration. She got really annoying and talkie-talkitiy-talk....she was a Nagger.

So as written, Cheers is not in the conversation. And Rebecca wasn't that likeable either. Hell Sam could be unlikable. The only constant was Woody and Coach.

I agree with you that Rebecca - while not as bad as Diane - wasn’t very likable either. Cliff was obviously meant to be annoying too, and Carla was sure abrasive.

You’re right that Woody and Coach were the only purely likable characters. I might throw Norm in there as well.

Jersey Shore has Snooki, Sami, JWoww, Vinny, Ronnie, and Angelina as cast members. No they are not. Entertaining, sure, but likable, no. When we were allowed gifs as avatars, I had Snooki getting jacked.

Pauly D is a cool dude though.
