Were not getting a no. 2 for BI. So just keep improving the roster. Go get one of the Cleveland bigs.
whatever you do don't resign him. His contract will be one of thr worst in thr nba. He's turning into Jordan poole

And the idea that we shouldn't trade him if it's no for a #2 is wild considering the 2 alternatives or extension or let him walk.
But there's no legit #2 that is realistically coming to New Orleans next season. Sure we should try, but it's not happening.

Are you aware that we can trade BI and other assets to get someone better back?
Is that not a possibility in your mind?

How many firsts or young players are you attaching to BI get a legit number 2 back?

Who?

Wants to come here?
We are trading for them. Not signing a free agent. There isn’t a choice.

Who?
That dude isn't as good as CJ, let's be serious here.

Obviously depends on the guy we are getting.
I’m not trading Trey or Herb.
Everyone else is a possibility.

Funny, we traded AD to the one place he wanted to go, weird how that worked out.

Herro has had plenty of great playoff games in his very young career and he can play just as shitty D as CJ.
No I don’t expect anyone to think he’s better than CJ. But he sure as shite was tonight.

I think herro is about the same as CJ and he's younger. He's a dumb arse though

So you mentioned him when I asked for legit #2s but now concede he's not a #2, so why did you mention him?

It most certainly is how it works.
It’s a trade. Not a free agent signing. Winning cures all.
Was there someone willing to give up as much as the Lakers did for AD?
Don’t act like that wasn’t a ton of assets we got back.

CJ changing his shot profile and his shooting efficiency this season puts him above Herro for sure.
But either way, neither are a legit #2 option, just like BI.

I was being ridiculous on purpose.
And I’m still irritated we got our arse kicked while short handed Miami kicked the Celtics arse.

It most certainly is how it works.
So how does it "most certainly" work that way when it never actually works that way in practice?

Hell, not just AD but our own team has yet another example.
Jrue
Not even a legit #2, and we still made sure he was traded to a contending team he'd sign off on. No chance in hell we would have sent him to a shite team even if we thought it would get a slightly better return... None, zero chance.

That was not the same scenario and you know that. Some guys have that respect where a front office will try their best to appease them.
Why did Paul George go to OKC?
Gobert to Minny?
Mitchell to Cavs?
Kawhi to Raptors?
Why is Jrue in Boston?
Why was Porzingis in Washington, or Dallas?
Why is Kyrie in Dallas?
You go where you get traded. Simple as that.

Maybe I’m a bit too optimistic, but I feel like the number of players who can control where they go is 10 or fewer guys, and when LeBron finally retires there will be less of the bs (I don’t think AD gets his way if it wasn’t for LeBron/Klutch forcing it).
I don’t think a typical number 2 player gets to control which market he goes to, look at Siakam for instance. Or even Dejounte, I don’t think he’s gonna be able to pick his market if he’s getting traded.
ETA: I don’t think KAT will get to choose where he goes if he gets shipped off either
