Not sure we have the assets to get one, much less both. But assuming BI and JV are probably gone if/when we lose this series we should have the flexibility to get another big name to play along Zion. Who would you prefer?

Trae Young makes CJ’s defense look like MJ’s. I don’t want Trae Young.

Trae Young is a hard no. He can’t guard a park bench.

Trae Young paired with Herb/Dyson is fine.

Trae and CJ is a disaster.

Trae Young is literally historically bad on defense. One of the literal worst defenders in NBA history.

Also, his offensive game is gross and would relegate Zion to 2nd tier guy.

I dont want Trae Yong.

Murray though. I think he would be an AMAZING connector for Zion and Trey.

I've been on team Murray for years.

He's an a-hole, though. Selfish. On another, much lower tier than Trae, but it's there.

Trae is dog poo for winning basketball. He's a "bad team, big stats" guy for fantasy only.

We need more of these on this team.

I think D-lo would fit nice on the roster next year. Move on from BI, pair Zion with another great passer with a good 3 point shot. Could move CJ to shooting guard where he has been most of his career, which should allow him some more catch and shoot opportunities.

Can you throw in a coach?

You can have all the talent in the world but with our poor coaching nothing will change.

How did he manage to get a team to game 6 of the Eastern conf finals against the eventual champs and we can’t get out of the first round if he’s so bad?

I tried to explain this to SFP the other day, the only retort was that it was an outlier, which doesn't make sense when we're trying to build around a guy who hasn't played a playoff game in 5 seasons, and hasn't finished a season to even be available to play a playoff game for the last 4 years.

And Trae didn't work as a #1 but would not be a #1 coming here.

He's definitely not at the top of my list, but he also would definitely make this team better than BI does, so he should be on the list of dudes we're looking into this offseason for BI.

One outlier run doesn't invalidate the rest of his career.

While we build around a guy who has played and been available to play 0 playoff games for the last 4 seasons...

Trae plays worse D than CJ and would kill our cap flexibility with his 40-50m a year contract.

Murray while obviously the lesser talent, is on a team friendly deal and would be the best connector Zion and Trey has had since Ball.

If you want to Stephen A the board and make a stand on trading Zion, feel free to make a thread about it

Until then, Zion is irrelevant to this particular discussion.

I'd prefer Murray too, but there's zero doubt that we'd be better with Trae instead of BI. You can call out all of Trae's faults, and I don't disagree with any of them, and he's still wayyyyyyyyy better than BI and better for this team than BI.

You just don't want the obvious holes in your argument to be pointed out.

Trae would make this team better than BI does....I don't even see how you'd disagree with that.

Trae hs been better than Zion for 5 seasons, again, also not really up for debate or terribly close. Trae teams have been more successful than Zion's for 5 seasons.
