And yeah, I'm being a dick. But just because everyone is so damn set on somebody being a bust before they are even drafted.

No thanks.

Using a 1st round pick on a guy that wont play for a few years does not help us at all. You even said we are in a win now mode. Ill take a WR like Matthews at 27 and be thrilled about it. He will help us immediately. If not, ill take an OL. Or a LB. Anyone that can come in and make us a better team.

And, I dont think he has a ton of potential at all. He will be a solid NFL player. Wont ever be a great QB. Reminds me of a guy like Andy Dalton. Can run a system, but needs great players around him on both sides of the ball.

He's very intelligent, an extremely hard worker, etc. so I don't think it's going to be such a huge hurdle for him to overcome with proper coaching. But since everyone on here has already written him off, he must suck and not have the ability to improve on weaknesses.

Your first round pick is a starter. Somebody get this guy another double on the rocks. How about a corner or wrwr

Yeah...it worked out terribly with the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers...

If Bridgewater is there at 27, I look to trade with a team like the Jags who have a lot of picks this draft and really need a QB

Well did they win a super bowl with Farve starting and Rodgers on the bench?

There's no way this guy would have the right attitude to sit behind an NFL hall of famer for 3 or so years. Seems he has no interest in sitting and learning, so to draft him would probably create friction, possibly a cancer to the team. No thanks.

That was a borderline fluke when that happened. A bunch of rare and questionable things happened that allowed them to get Rodgers. Starting with San Fran taking Alex Smith #1 overall. And then no other QB went until Rodgers did at 24. And the Packers were able to take Rodgers because they really didn't have that big of needs at other spots. They were well off, and that allowed them to take Rodgers.

We have a few needs. And a big need at the WR spot. Brees has a few great years left. No point in doing this, especially for a QB like Bridgewater, who will be average at best.

Oh and Bridgewater is not Rodgers. Not even close.

Bridgewater would become a free agent right around the time Brees retires. We may be grooming him for another team, with a first rounder never stepping on the field for us except to hand the ball off in blowouts. We need to wait a few years before we look for a QB early.

Do you want TB as your 1st round QB of the future? Cause I sure as hell don't. I find no value in his play at the next level.

If you could go back to draft day, would you have made this pick?

I'll take Cooks over him right now any day of the week.
Not that I don't think he'll be good, it's just too soon. This day and age premier QBs are plug and play. I doubt we grab a high draft pick until Drew is 38/39
