I have an awful stomach flu right now. I would gladly trade this for Covid.

How safe is meeting friends outdoors when you're the only one masked? Hi everyone! Hoping to get some advice and opinions. Do you think spending time with friends at outdoor cafes when you're the only one masked is relatively safe? They would not be masked, nor are they actively being covid safe. They may be eating or just drinking. I would be masked and might take a few quick sips of drinks with either a SIP valve or just shoving a straw underneath my N95. Time spent together would be at most 2 to 3 hours, all outdoors, maybe if needed a quick car ride together (would try to keep car window cracked open). I might use the cafe's public bathroom. I'm trying to get back into socializing with some old friends and they are understanding of my situation, as in they are totally cool with me being covid conscious and masking the whole time/not eating with them. What do you think? Would you be pretty comfortable in this situation? Please share any advice or stories, thanks!
Question posed an hour ago. Can't even wrap my head around the level of utter insanity on this reddit board.

There are people on that Reddit page who have legitimately left their spouse because they stopped “taking covid seriously.”
I used to troll the page to blow off steam and finally got banned. Someone asked about delivery precautions and I said that I hadn’t opened my front door in 3 years, and whenever we have things delivered I make my wife go out and get it.

Surgical masks are worn for BACTERIAL INFECTION reduction.
This fact, and the fact that they do not stop viral particles from passing through is all anyone needs to know.
Those two things alone are easily proven through years of studies and common knowledge in the medical community.
They were never anything but a symbol of compliance/obedience and/or people wanting to "go along to get along" instead of thinking independently and using some basic common sense.

Take a look at the ZeroCovid board on Reddit.
It’s weird that those people were surely “Trust the science” people, but now they don’t seem to accept the current CDC COVID guidelines which are to basically do the same things you would do for other respiratory viruses like the flu.

That is really a sad statement. Anyone who thinks this way in April of 2024 truly has a serious mental illness.

I’m speechless. I’ve never seen the word “plague” used that many times on one page. Pure insanity.

Watching the Stagecoach festival on Prime, cause Willie is on. I’ll be damned at the people still wearing mask outside.
