As long as there is a Highlights magazine available so I can look for the hidden pictures

You are not an official Pediatrician's office if there is no Highlights magazine in the lobby.

Those things are amazing, even if the magazine is 10 years old.

They can give a lunch with the requirement that it is an actual presentation/lecture. All heavily documented.

Correct, I signed my name. And presentation is loosely defined in real life. But yes, they have scaled back from 15+ years ago

How about you treat my condition instead of peddling me prescriptions for my symptoms because the merck or Pfizer rep gave you a ski trip to Breckenridge.

As a drug rep, let me just say to this happy horseshite. I can't give a motherfricker an ink pen much less a ski trip. And if I spend $3.00 on a coffee from Starbucks for a doc or nurse, I have to document it out the arse. Some of your complaints are legit but this idea some of y'all have about the relationship between docs and drug companies is about 30 years out of date.

Then why does he have fistful of Cialis samples to give out? Samples of anything are for promoting a product.

My daughter got a subscription to highlights from her grandmother for Christmas. We fight over it and I'm not ashamed to admit it

Yeah, no shite.

I don't sit there at the lunches I do and do all my expense documentation in front of them.

Sometimes people have to do things for their job that other people don't see.

Lunches are a giant pain in the arse for the rep not so much for the doc and staff that eat it.

I keep waiting for the AMA or some lawmaker to decide the lunches need to go like the pens/sticky notes/clipboards etc. It will be THE happiest day of my career.

I DESPISE doing lunches for doctor's offices.

You don't think your doctors are smarter than the average joe off the street?

Never said that. I said there are plenty of people that are as capable as doctors and could be doctors had they chosen that path. You know, engineers, architects, attorneys, etc.

Woah!

Scruffy will accept engineers and architects, but let's not get carried away here.

What paperwork are you filling out every time you go to the doctor? I sign my name and hand over my insurance card. My patients do the same in my office.

That's all I ever have to do unless its first appointment paperwork

People in this thread don't understand a lot of the realities of medicine and the business aspect of it. And the drug rep stuff is hilarious. It's like they decided to base an entire thread on outdated stereotypes

For limp dicks to try before shelling out $50 - 150 for a month's worth of pills only to find out it doesn't work for them.

Docs get NOTHING out of samples. Those are for you - their patient.

And nice trying to move the goalposts - samples =/= ski trip.

Try again.

Yes, samples help promote a product. Obviously.

I know the Dr. penned a PSA telling everyone to bathe before going to see the Dr.

But you would've done better to write an open letter.
