Imatrex is the first migraine meds they have tried with me. I tell them it does the trick, so I guess they don't see a point in changing it. What are the meds topamax and inderal like?
They are used to decrease the frequency of migraines, so it's something you take every day. It's more for people who have migraines weekly/monthly. They do have side-effects, so it's probably not worth taking if you're only having 3 migraines per year.

I was more just curious to see if you had taken them and if they worked for you.

I know that feel. My mirgraines cause loss of peripheral vision and almost complete blindness in my left eye. Also makes it impossible to focus on the center of someone's face. It's very strange.

I was honestly very reluctant to take the hydrocodone. Due to a torn L1/L2 and sciatic nerve pain I was addicted to opiates for a long, long time. After drinking a 6 pack and taking a couple hydros I feel better. Headache is still there but I don't seem to give a shite now LOL

Several years ago I wouldn't even notice taking 20mg of hydrocodone because my addiction was so bad. After some time off...... what do ya know it works again. Thankfully they didnt give me enough to restart a old habit.

Its funny cause getting them back when I wanted them was like pulling teeth. Now that I dont want them... the docs seem to give them to me at the drop of a hat. I actually refused oxycodone for back pain and instead take tramadol. You may laugh but if you arent already tolerant to opiates they do help......a bit. I'm scheduled to have the nerves in my back burnt off in a few months to kill the pain.

I was at a poker game Tuesday with an older fellow. He started having blurred vision in one eye and not feeling well. No headache. He decided to leave early. He died yesterday from a ruptured aneurysm. He was in his 70s. He was flown to ochsner that night but it was too late. He was on the vent for two days.

Oh wow, yeah agreed. I would not take tramadol at work. It does have a slight kick to it. I remember Ultram (tramadol) given out like candy for cramps related to PMS/ as well as for ovarian cysts.

My primary care PA, told me-before they classified tramadol- He had a patient he had to cut-off of tramadol. Patient was taking 5 freaking tramadols and said it gave him the same high as one 5 mg percocet.

Abusers gonna abuse like idiots.

I have gotten out of a sinus migraine with trammy and 800 mg. ibuprofen. Whereas the other narcs wouldn't dent the headache. It is weird.

Did they check the pressure in your eyes? Could be an angle closure. Is that lid drooping at all compared to the other?

That why I told her to get to an ophthalmologist ASAP. These kind of headaches can be from glaucoma.

Is this a IOP device? Do ERs/urgent cares have this? Are ER docs trained to use them? If so, I had no idea. I always thought they left the IOP check to the optometrists.

Interesting.
