I save somewhere between 30 to 40 percent of my net income. Most years it is closer to 30, especially when I take vacations.

I try to stick to a basic budget of 50-20-30.

50% needs: groceries, housing, utilities, transportation, healthcare

20% wants: clothes, gym, toys, restaurants/bars, vacations, personal items, etc.

30% future: investments, retirement, car fund, emergency fund

And that's NET income. The Government helps themselves to a 25% skim right off the top of my money so Dmetri, the money laundering Ukranian defense contractor and Qua'Neesha the director of Diversity Planning for Urban Development can live high on the hog while I get zero f--king benefit for my tax dollars.

Weird metric. I go days without spending anything.

That seems way low for electric, water, trash, internet, phone, tv and natural gas if you have it

Electric - $150(avg)
Water/trash/sewer- $110
Internet -$70
Cell(2)-$80

I have IPTV for my TV service and it costs less than $10/month

You’re right. I forgot the phones in the amount. Add $200.

The more you make the more your lifestyle goes up it seems.

Yeah I just pulled a report because answering your question made me wonder what we’ve been doing. Spent $15k ytd on travel related expenses. Need to crack the whip around here and slow down.

I don’t keep track. I put all my bills and expenses besides my mortgage and car payment on my credit card and pay it off every check. Charged like $35k to my credit card last year. Cashed out like $1500. Pretty much get a free vacation every year just by using my credit card instead of a debit card

Maybe $65-70 per day, from a rough math attempt

Yup and I try to do my best to track my expenses in an Excel spreadsheet to see where I could possibly trim some of the fat.

Trying to figure out how I can fit in a $800 monthly note for a Bass Cat, doesn't look to be happening soon.

Strange way to think about it this way. There are days where I spend nothing additional and days where I’ll spend hundreds.
