quote:

The money count has to be right. There are consequences if it's not.

When will the people of Baton Rouge and NOLA have had enough of this shite and get people in office that will actually try and make a change to this downward spiral of violence and chaos that seems to be eating these cities alive?

we are out numbered or the elections are fixed

Plus no one votes - possibly because of the above reasons I mentioned

Taxes in Baton Rouge are already high, especially for what you get. To make significant improvements in the city, you will have to hire more officers, build more jails and house more inmates. All of these take money that Baton Rouge doesn't have so that means...even more taxes. How much is the average St. George resident willing to shell out (no pun intended) to support additional crime prevention?

They should get a coupon for shooting lessons with their EBT and welfare. Would save us all a bunch of money if they were a better shot.

EBR has plenty of money. They just don’t spend it on the basic services.

They don’t put police first, instead they spend money on the “extras”. BREC, the Libraries, COA, and all kind of special projects get funded. The cops do not. Trash and drainage and road maintenance do not.

We do pay a lot in taxes; we just don’t get a bang for our bucks.

Democrats ignore it and blame guns... Funny thing is.. I wonder how many people know the shooter and haven't said a word. You know...Can't trust the police, but you can trust the thug with the gun.

The Dems know that, which is why they keep pushing for Section 8 housing in the center of middle-class suburbs. They want to rub your nose in it.

this is not true - the police were bankrupting the retirement system - with their overtime that gets counted into their retirement

BREC and the libraries have their own taxes, meaning their own money to spend.. The library is not even allowed to spend their own money without major oversight.

The police cannot take money from taxes collected for the library. That’s illegal

Unless there’s tax money that needs to be laundered via “studies” or votes to be had, nope.
