Apparently there is no wedding date set otherwise her focus the next 6 months would be on the wedding and not Dubai.
Wife and I were engaged for 16 months. So it's not some impossible task assuming you have a supportive family.

has anyone successfully taken a "break" from a relationship? And by "success," I mean that you reunited at the end of it.
Many people have yes.
My fiance and I broke up for about 5 months early in our relationship. As did my parents and a shite load of happily married couples.
I should clarify. This usually takes place early in the relationship.
Yall are engaged and she wants to do this?
Its up to you, and you may truly one another, but she does now and will continue to put other things ahead of you. It's up to yall to work that out.
Best advice I got about women:
1. Pay attention to how she treats friends and family. She will eventually treat you the same.
2. Physical attraction is important. It fades. What's left is the work and effort you put into the relationship, good or bad.
3. Love does not conquer all. Hard work, selflessness, and compromise by both people does conquer all.
Goodluck and godspeed.
If you do break up, she'll run around town before she comes back. No reason for you not to do the same. You're adults. Act like it.

e this. If she travels as much as you say and the assignment will let her grow in what appears to be a successful career, what's the issue?
My wife and I were engaged for 2 years before we got married, only because she moved to Shreveport to finish up at LSUMC, I waited because I wasn't worried, she was fckin Shreveport not Dubia.

Sounds like she is trying to get out of the engagement.

Well I'm not from Louisiana, and my wife isn't from BR. And we are entertaining job options in other states.
So no.

Has OP come back? I hate when they don't answer our questions.

Every time I read a post of yours I pray you're an act or a character, because your life stories and attitudes are so sad and pathetic I shutter to belive they're real.

Or absence makes the heart grow fonder. Which is true? My fiancé just informed me that she wants to take a six month assignment in Dubai. I don't know what to think.
In many cases absence does make the heart grow fonder. If you two have an honest relationship, don't worry so much.
My biggest advice is this.....don't take advice from the OT, most of them are involuntarily single, and the few in relationships or married have ugly significant others but lie to themselves everyday about it.

No pics. I don't want to provide too much detail, but she works in finance. Generally makes high in the 100s (it varies), but is certainly not OT rich. And we've only been engaged for a month. We're both in our mid-30s, so we're not wedding-obsessed and haven't set a date.
