Truck Driver.

I still remember that old Diesel Driving Academy commercial.” Call 1-800-551-8900. Diesel Driving Academy!”

Being a chef sounded great when I decided not to go to law school, but it would be a bit of an understatement to say that the grind of 80 - 90 hour work weeks got old. Thankfully long since moved to sales.

Not sure if it sucks but some trash gal every year when school started up would say she wanted to be a marine biologist because they went to Seaworld over the summer. I've yet to ever meet one.

I’ve known about 10 marine biologist. All of them love their jobs. With exception of the two that work at sea world and the one that worked at Disney.

Any media position. A miserable, low paying, thankless and (understandably) despised career.

Glad I wasn’t the only kid that thought being a garbage man would be badass.

My uncle was a garbage man on a 3-man city crew. The city did garbage. One driver and two garbage can guys. The pay wasn't that great but it had benefits. The neat thing is that it was a small town and so he got to know so much about the town. He basically knew who lived where and who ran or owned the businesses in town. He would tell us where not to eat in town because of the horrible conditions of a restaurants garbage.

Golf Instructor. Has turned out to be completely "soul destroying".....I don't think I can express how utterly confused most golfers are plus the owner is usually a complete pychopath that is hell-bent on assuring himself that the Head Pro makes enough money to cover expenses and that is the limit

Our 14 year old has said she wants to be a marine biologist for years. I think she thinks they play with dolphins all day. I know other parents with similarly aged kids who also want to be marine biologists. I’m not sure why that career is so enticing to middle schoolers.

Take them along for a work shadow of a Fisheries biologist or USGS biologist. After a day of counting fish and collecting samples, they might reconsider.

Yep, 5 years with NOEMS (8 years total) not only made me run from EMS, but also killed any chance of me staying in the medical field. People suck

I wouldn’t wish NOEMS on my worst enemy.
People sucking is an understatement for people in New Orleans. They abuse the 911 system and are the least self cared humans on the planet.

Dated a nurse back in the day who worked for an OBGYN. I'll never forget the stories i heard. They would refuse some patients on smell alone!

When i was little, my dad would tell me that the crossing guard by the school was the strongest man in the world because he could hold back a line of cars with one hand. So yeah. That became my dream

Nah, that never sounded fun. Actually seemed like an awful way to make a living. Except for the summers off thing.
