Would love to hear an explanation. Only one posted in this thread was weak as hell.

AT&T because I hate them as a company. But if we want to look at things they've done we can. They take the simple business model of selling phone and internet service and turn it into a frickton of confusion for the consumer. Maybe that's their angle. You bundle home phone we give you a deal on dial up. shite like that. Every company in America can have a different pricing discount with them. God forbid if you change your plan in the middle of the month, you'll never figure out what charges are what on your bill. They make joint venture deals which are hard to understand from a consumer standpoint. Why can't I get one fricking bill that includes my phone and my uverse? It should be easy if my local government can bill me for trash, water and sewerage all at the same time.

ETA: I realize that none of these make them dumb but they sure piss me off so I threw them in the mix

What would IBM be today if Lou Gerstner hadn't come in as CEO in '93? IBM would be dead if he hadn't come in to give them a harsh reality-check.

That's what I was thinking of when I nominated IBM for this list

They are now a case study on how to turn your company around albeit took them 20 years to do so. IBM was virtually on death's door.

It's like that here too. At one point, maybe a decade ago, they were all on-par with their competitors. Since then, they've been abandoned in place, pretty much. Wendy's went on a big renovation spree in recent years and now they're the nicest.

The only good one I've ever been to was run by an Indian family in Stafford, TX. Really clean, good service and they delivered!

Other than that, one of the worse fast food chains

THIS

Now they're offing phone and TV customers the option of unlimited* cellular data. Ok, so you clearly know that I am your customer for both, and you're going to offer me a "deal" for that reason, but I still can't be billed for both services on one bill?

ETA: I was watching shark tank last night and that game (which is pretty lame anyways) "spike ball" was invented in the 80's and the inventor never got a patent. Let all business licenses expire and it was picked picked up by a couple of assholes and re marketed. These guys made $150 million last year in revenue and are having the game sold in Dick's sporting goods and potentially Wal-Mart.

AT&T only survives because of its size. But it won't last much longer. Crap product, crap customer service. They'll reach a tipping point and fall.

Blackberry isn't bad if your concern is security. Still remains the only mobile platform capable of passing encryption and security requirements (hence the reason Hillary had one from DoS).

Western Union could have had the telephone but didn't think much of it as long as they had the telegraphs.

I overpay for internet with Cox, and overpay for TV with Directv, and switched to Verizon for cell's. I will soon leave Directv b/c of their deal with AT&T.
Nothing funner than having to spend countless hours on the phone when they frick up one of your many bills from them.

They are easily the most disliked company in this country.

I loved Wordperfect. It was so far ahead of Word...the nail in the coffin was when Excel passed Lotus 1-2-3 as the preferred spreadsheet software. Wordperfect couldn't compete against the Microsoft Office bundle.
