Did them once when out at a bar. some chick gave them to me. When I started tripping about 15 people I knew came in and I was not ready to deal with that. Got a cab home...

Had an incredible time at the house. played call of duty with a headset(incredible experience. could hear everything on the map)... stared at myself in the mirror for a while. listened to music with headphones and found deeper meanings in all of the songs... listened to the same songs the next day and most of it didn't make sense I had a blast.

A lot more fun than the first time I took acid. at the time I was living in the cottages at LSU. did it with one buddy. about 10 people came over and had never tripped and started fricking with me. really had a terrible fricking day. the beginning was cool before that. that led to 14 hours(felt like 5 days) of hell. they did acid after me and apologized after. they didn't understand

We used to do all kinds of social experiments on shrooms in college. Went to class on them once. That lasted about 5 minutes. Used to just walk around campus in the middle of the day giggling at everyone. Went to a football game on them once. That was a blast. We had the idea of going to church on them, but thought better of that one, mostly because we couldn't agree on which church. I wanted to go to a black church. The singing and clapping would have been awesome.

I will always think of the Bad Company concert at the LSU Assembly Center in May 1979, and the post-concert trip (literally) to McDonald's on Perkins Road. Why do you ask?

Nature is the way to go. Having dealt with a slew of first timers I am of the opinion putting them outdoors lessens the chances of a bad or negative experience dramatically.

I started picking shrooms from a field behind the Mormon church in Denham Springs in the late 1990's when I was a teenager. Anyone know if that's still a thing? This is bringing back some great memories

Growing them at home has been the thing for several years. You can legally buy spore syringes, or prints, and do a simple grow using brown rice flour.

While it's legal to buy the spores, it's still illegal to grow them, at least in most states.

In the good ole days we filled Walmart bags full of shrooms growing from cow shite. We would give them a good washing, stuff them in some pantyhose, boil it down, and the more dark and purple it got the harder we knew we would trip. That's where my path out of there and to Colorado around more like minded people truly started and that I am grateful for

I think they're a lot more dangerous than people admit. I haven't even seen drugs in several years, but I'd sooner do cocaine than any hallucinogen (other than pot).

What do you think the danger is?

Well, science completely disagrees with your opinion, for what it’s worth.

I support science. One day we will have MDMA therapy. Head over to bluelight for this.

Prefer LSD

Like all drugs, shrooms should be legal and regulated

I think they can precipitate... mood disorders I guess? Brain damage? Do them enough and you'll end up a psychiatric patient. I've met people like that, who were on antipsychotic medicine for life because they'd tripped to hard.

Those are extreme cases, I admit, and probably overblown. I mean, some clown coroner put "THC intoxication" on a death certificate for FFS.

More realistically, though, I just don't think using psilocybin or LSD is compatible with being a well-adjusted, mentally healthy person. It always made me feel much different from the rest of the world, and I don't need that in my life. Even decades later I can't forget that feeling.

And cannabis isn’t really a hallucinogen, by the way.

I did quite a bit of LSD, shrooms, and MDMA in my younger days. I’m just happy to see so many Lourdes of the OT had a similar upbringing

Well, okay.. yeah, people with a predisposition toward psychiatric illness shouldn’t use hallucinogens. But that’s a very small segment of society. Cocaine is more dangerous for a broader audience.

This is simply incorrect.

Psychodelics are known non-addictive. And they have shown remarkable results in clinical tests. It's an absolute outrage that they were outlawed in the 60s after so much mainstream, promising research.

They're coming back, though. I think 20-40 years from now, we'll have a kindler, gentler nation because they will be used by the medical profession. shite, just for our military personnel returning home, I hope this happens.

I know of 3 legal facilities - one in the Netherlands, one in Mexico and one in Jamaica. The guy in Jamaica is actually from Kentucky and has a podcast that is worth listening to.

MycoMeditations

He hosts week long retreats with 3 trips over the 7 days. They have facilitators on hand to help. It is not supposed to be "fun" - although one would hope there are pleasurable aspects. It should be considered "work" - work on the self and on well being. They also give very high base doses. Most people on here saying they've "done shrooms", probably had 2 grams at most. This guy starts around 5 grams per trip - and some people do up to 15. The difference is the set and setting. It's all very responsibly curated.

Listen to the podcast - it's just him talking to retreat guests post-trip.

Yeah, "science."

I've never seen a harm study that attempted to control for shooting and arrests. Rather, they embrace these as indicators of harm and tend to amplify their effects.

"Look, we shot this guy for using this stuff. It sure must be harmful. That's a nasty bullet wound there!"

If cocaine were a cutesy, faux-natural part of White hippy culture instead of an engine of Black survival, "science" would reach a different conclusion.
