Imperial Headwear has a ton of them. Good looks for certain places imo.

They've been around for a long time. This is a picture from the 1960 New Orleans Open. Notice the hats on golfer Dow Finsterwald and a couple of the onlookers in back.

Pretty sure the MAGA Hat made the rope hat popular again like 7 years ago.

All of the caps from nice resorts were made that way when I was going to places like Vail and Copper Mountain. Those caps look great after they've been worn enough to look old. They were my favorites when I was in my 20's and 30's.

As has been shown by pics, they're also sold at golf courses.

Is that what those pastel coveralls old guys used to wear were called. Didn't they have a fake belt buckle?

I can remember seeing guys mowing their yards in them. Some of them looked pretty cool, and you know they'd be comfy.

ETA:
I'm going to be 65 in January. I'm ready for one.

Closest thing I can find on Amazon.

These things have been around for years. My great grandad wore em, barely on the top of his head.

They look fine to me. What looks stupid is shite are the damn flat billed hats.

Cut the legs off those into shorts and you might be on to something.

That is exactly the way they hit me, or more specifically the choice of head covering at a VFW.

When old things are brought back there is always a generation that remembers them with disdain. To me they seem like the poor quality hats I saw in convenience stores just like snapback mesh "truckers hats". To like them I think you have to be too young to remember them.

Or they bring back a certain nostalgia of our granddad who was a blue collar baw, nerd

I get a hit of nostalgia when I see an older gentleman wearing a tie 3 inches above his beltline but I am not interested in copying it.

Lots of military and ex-military wore them when their were more WWII and Korea vets around…older than the 70’s for sure but an old dude with a marlin on his cap with rope and a zippered jumpsuit really knew how to fry fish and cook at the camp back in the day…

You just described my late paw paw who passed away in 1986. He flew the Hump in WWII, wore the rope hat, rocked that jumpsuit and fried fish like a boss.
