Why must folks assume one cannot loathe both of these things?

Well, one is federally legal and the other is not. It’s kind of hard to ignore how hypocritical the law is on the matter.

I think there should be no limits.

I don't smoke and I don't have any medical conditions that would be helped by smoking it.

Is 5-6 joints a day (the initial limit he seems to be proposing) a lot? Are there people out there that would need more than 5-6 joints a day for medical purposes to alleviate their condition?

Absolutely not. Smoking weed is for losers.

Then why do you think it will cause some uptick in “druggies?”

Also has does occasion marijuana use make one a loser? I am not a big marijuana user, more a bourbon guy. I will eat an edible on occasion in the privacy of my own home. Does that make me a druggie or a loser?

Do you think pot usage has remained constant in states that have enacted legalization measures?

I’ve done my fair share of both and don’t think marijuana is worse than alcohol, but I don’t think either is particularly favorable for society

I agree with you here. I will however point out that prescription opiates and painkillers have ruined millions of lives for decades now. That may not have been so with a milder, less toxic, less addictive alternative like Marijuana.

Tate Reeves is shitting the bed when it comes to legislation regarding medicinal marijuana. The citizens of Mississippi has already voted (74%) in favor of medicinal marijuana. Yet, he still is referring to the medicinal properties as “pot” or “joints”.

I don’t think it’s caused a huge in crease in “druggies.” I am sure there has been some uptick but I imagine that was people trying it for the novelty and people that are just very occasional users. I know after legalization Colorado actually saw a decrease in teen usage.

Great.

Some opiate usage will be curtailed.
Pot usage will greatly increase.

It’s never what they put on the brochure.

No person with an actual job has time to smoke 5-6 joints every single day. You'd just be waking and baking around the clock.
