My understanding is the pilots take over the comms and advise the captain on where and when to go.

Act of terror.
Do you or anyone here believe there was a terrorist exploit induced in the metacentric height calc for load out or….
Was it a controls or switchboard fault exploited by terrorists cognizant of the ship’s FMEA?
Answer those in engineering terms and I’ll take your hypothetical seriously.

Nevermind my .02 and decades shipping, listen to an engineer who spent 25 years on containers ships.

Excellent and on point analysis by a marine professional chief engineer. Those licensed as such take years of experience to qualify. I admire their ability and professionalism.
I’ve lost count on how many ship’s blackouts I’ve witnessed (some easily predicted) either on new build FMEA trials or DNV, ABS etc 5 year post dry dock trials.
The root cause will not be difficult to diagnose , especially with an intact ship and engine room and not a sunk one to examine.
I’m not going to speculate but am fairly certain a Jewish Space Laser theory can be ruled out. Amongst other wacko conspiracy theories.
Good stuff, thanks.

Yessir, the old Jewish laser was the first one I ticked off the list too...

... this whole Baltimore bridge collapse has the earmarks of one thing ...
everything points to fleeing from authorities ...
whenever a person flees
> they have no set plan of escape
> no sense of order
> do not take into account the dangers
> scrambling and chaos
All that is on the mind is to FLEE
... just like this person fleeing authorities in this video which shows the aftermath of a person fleeing from authorities...
This perp also caught a cement pole --- just like that cement bridge ...
There is no thought in the act of fleeing, that cement CAN cause extensive damage if you run head on into cement ...

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a chase and crash that left four injured in Algiers.
NOPD leaders said officers conducted a traffic stop around 4 p.m. on a red two-door Audi car at the intersection of General Meyer Avenue and Kabel Drive.
According to officers, the car matched the description of a car sought in the investigation of a March 18 homicide in the 3000 block of General Meyer Avenue.

Baltimore harbor is the only port shipping coal and LNG to Europe.
I believe the huge LNG facilities in Louisiana and Texas are a lot larger.
The bigger problem is 4 of our Rapid Resonse Fleet are trapped in the harbor.

I’m pretty sure all the LNG shipping leaving Maryland is out of Cove Point which is like a two hour drive south of Baltimore. I own a lot of $D and they have a lot of LNG interests there.
