I don’t really blame them given 1/2 the country or so is sitting at home in ‘safety’ while they have to plod on in the public virtually like nothing is going on in the world.

GTFO

They're not just clerks. They're all-natural and organic clerks.

Well, the Apple store shut down for the foreseeable future... so not there.

That was... funnier in my head, now that I read it.

I remember when I first went in to one of these stores it smelt like weird vitamins and there was a dude playing bongo drums. the prices are ridiculous when you can find the same thing from the mom and pop farmers market.

Yeah if you are a recently laid off restaurant worker that might look like a good job.

Ya the Dallas Farmers Market has way better produce and specialty items for like half the price. Whole foods is only good for seafood and meat. But then again, it's not competitive Central Market in that regard. I have no reason to every step foot in there.

Easily replaceable workers want double their pay? Let's see how this plays out.

Didn’t amazon (before buying Whole Foods) start piloting stores without cashiers. Just an app on the phone. Just take an item off the shelf and it bills your amazon account?

I remember a thread on whole foods on TD awhile back; people defended and said they were expensive because they were QUALITY meats. I get the same meats up the road at a mom and pop butcher house that uses no hormones. I get better eggs from my coop. The rest of their products I can get at a natural remedies type store.

While millions of Americans are out of work, these guys are voluntarily without work.

Bold strategy

Striking during a time of national emergency? In an industry that is essential?

If you can tell someone you have to stay home, certainly you can tell people they have to go to work, right?

Dallas Farmers Market is pretty nice and hipster as hell. I would not describe it as you are, but things have likely changed significantly.

This is the unintended consequence of that ridiculous 600 dollar a week add on to UE benefits. Workers in essential businesses will be pissed they’re missing out and demand more money.

Then hyper inflation occurs to offset costs.

Amazon should fire all of them and hire new employees. They offer a good wage and good working conditions at those stores. Put those losers out of work
