Oh you definitely care. The fact people believe in God bothers the frick out of you. You’re always in any God related thread.

Of course. There are people in this country who yearn for a theocracy. I will always oppose that.

Not at all. It's the people who think I need to conform to their chosen god's morality that draw my criticism.

So are you, whining about my participation.

If your plane went down you’d be one of the first ones to start praying. It’s always your type

I was on an MV-22 in Afghanistan that suffered mechanical problems and made a hard landing. I didn't spontaneously become a Christian again.
So much for that theory. Any others you'd like to test?

It is, and it's a reason I'm so amused when people like FooLaneCraig pretend they own the Christian perspective in these conversations.

My moral standard is based on God's moral standard, which is objective and the only objective moral standard that human beings have access to.
We agree that there is no objective morality with out a supreme moral authority (God). Wouldnt that mean you have to be able to prove that authorities' existence as fact to prove that an objective morality exists?

AND you are intellectually dishonest and disingenuous.

What caused you to lose faith?

It’s important to understand that there is no “proving” that God exists (or doesn’t). In that regard, a belief in either direction is faith-based. There is only an inference to the best explanation of one’s interpretation of the evidence. If you believe that God exists, then you believe in an objective moral standard. If you deny the existence of God, then you either deny the existence of objective morality, or, you must explain some other cause. A theist would say that because objective morality exists, God exists.
Why do we believe that there is an objective moral standard of behavior? Because we recognize that there are universal “oughts” and “ought nots.” And, that those oughts and ought nots exist independently from, and externally to, our existence and/or understanding of them. That, by definition, is objective- and transcendent.
A materialistic/naturalistic worldview is incapable of accounting for, or even identifying the potential existence of, anything that transcends the material world- such as free will and objective morality; whereas a biblical understanding of God adequately answers the questions regarding the origin of these properties. Therefore, if objective morality exists, it is a strong indicator that God exists.

I say most Christians fold and Renounce Jesus and most of the general population go along with them.
Many are called but few are chosen.
“Ya Rabbi Yassou!”

You must not know FooLaneCraig, master of vicious circular fallacies. He would assert that for objective morality to exist, it would have to come from a divine authority (of course the Christian god), and because the Christian god exists, we know there is objective morality. And because objective morality exists, that proves god exists.

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. These loonytoons in this administration (and the loonies who vote for him) can choose to embrace lunacy, but I belong to Jesus Christ Crucified. When I was baptised I received His mark (The Cross) on my soul. Therefore, I have an indelible mark on my soul indicating I belong to Him. My duty now is to devote what's left of my life on this earth towards serving Him, as best I can.
Regretably, they didn't listen to Him when He walked on earth, choosing instead to crucify Him for claiming to be the Son of God - which He is. The deniers of His Divinity and Humanity still curse Him and butcher His followers today. .
Without hesitation I say - I am a Follower of the Cross. My destiny is, God willing, to be with Him for all eternity in that beautiful happy place. No suffering, no misfortune, no temporal joy can deter me from my destiny. To die for Him would be my greatest joy. I am a Follower of the Cross.
Ora pro pace Jerusalem

quote:The sad thing is that you act as if it's a bad thing for people with the truth to police it when you admit that there is no objective standard to say that such a thing is bad at all. You get all worked up for no reason.
Right, and that's what you're trying to do.
You have your version of truth, and you think you have some authority to be a gatekeeper and police everyone else who doesn't conform to your version of truth.
quote:Doubtful. I'm extremely happy. I'm content with my life and have great joy as someone who belongs to Jesus Christ.
You'd have been a happier person if you were born somewhere like Afghanistan.
