I go to some Atlanta United games and will watch some on Apple. I don’t watch any other MLS teams/matches.
Atl Utd games are a blast and affordable. Frankly a better experience and value than Falcons and Hawks. I probably go to a dozen Braves games, half a dozen Atl Utd games, and maybe only 1-2 Hawks games and 1 Falcons game a year. It’s not that I like soccer more than basketball and football, but it’s just a better value and entertainment experience right now. It’s pretty popular in Atlanta youth sports too.
I don’t pretend to understand the ins and out of the complicated salary cap/designated player structure of MLS (there are a ton of rules) but it just seems like Inter Miami has gamed the system bringing in Messi, Suarez, Busquets, Alba etc in a “salary capped” league. I mean good for them but they are going to dominate a salary capped league.

Why did they chose lame copied names from Europe like "Real", "Sporting", "City" and "United"?
i hate that. just the city name with either 'FC' or 'SC' appended to it is sufficient.

In my defense, I didn't know there was a dedicated soccer board.

I am a Nashville Soccer Club season ticket holder. The games are a blast and our stadium is brand new.

yep. However i think if the league was managed and marketed properly, it would have immense potential.
MLS stakeholders should be talking with Real Madrid and Barcelona about trying to incorporate them into a 'Super League' that they want so bad. you don't even need the english clubs nor bayern as the madrid/barca brand is strong enough on its own to raise the MLS profile. they should also see if they can get the south american big clubs like Flamengo, River Plate, Boca to join in also.

I loosely keep up with sporting kc since i live in wichita. I just cant bring myself to watch it much when the premier league games are so easily accessible.
as far as the naming thing everyone else is commenting on, i wish there were more names like chicago fire, new england revolution, etc. I think the non plural local names wouldve been a good regional thing for the league to adopt

It’s so fricking cringe it’s like going to Comic-Con or a Trekkie convention and I totally respect the game, the world wide appeal, and the World Cup, but that dogshit is actually make believe.
Adult males and females acting as if they’re European fans, mimicking chants, cheers, and mannerisms. They’re wearing Euro jerseys and scarves and fake as frick Euro accents. It’s Bad, real bad.

Love the goals of the league, but man hate the way they do it.
All teams paying for Messi? Just build talent on your own.

Austin FC fan here. Even though we aren't very good, the games are still a great atmosphere.

Don't mind them. WCA and his ilk post in more soccer threads than anyone else on this board. They just haven't accepted their true selves and come out of the closet yet, so they claim to hate it.
Chicago Fire, but I haven't watched in years because they've been dreadful. I care far more about the European leagues.

I’ll watch some of a Dynamo game if I’m flipping and it’s on, but I’m not paying for the Apple thing.
I just don’t see how they expect to be successful long term going to head to head with the NFL/CFB during MLS playoffs. That needs to be in the spring.

I don’t think they’re trying to compete with the NFL or CFB, they’re targeting people in Centra, South America and Mexico

I watch it, I don’t really have a team though. I probably watch LAFC the most though.
Columbus will repeat.

Didn’t care about it until we moved to KC. Got into soccer with daughter and we know one of assistant coaches for Sporting and some of the owners.

One of my most deeply held beliefs is that America grew to the dominant super power it was almost entirely due to our populace telling this foreign, un-American, waste of time to go frick itself and that you can trace our decline in power to our society's weakening of that stance
I say no more and I will never stop

Because the MLS and their “hardcore” fans are wannabe Europeans

I used to go to a lot of FC Dallas matches but I got kind of tired of the cheap arse Hunt family always selling off the best players in the middle of the season and then acting surprised they can't win in the playoffs. I'll still occasionally watch when they play one of the better teams but until the Hunt's actually care about winning I can't get too invested.
