Osceola is a myth, proven genetically. I'd say hunt them where you feel like an osceola should be, orange groves or deep in the swamp. Otherwise they are an eastern beyond an imaginary line in the sand. From someone who tried extremely hard to get mine, and my son's...

Just got approved for my first one, going to pick it up this weekend. Putting it on a bolt action rifle, but may want to switch back and forth to another gun. Should i just direct thread it or is there a reason to do something else?...

I once made a hunt in some really bad winds, on my drive to the spot an hour before daylight there was one standing in the road. I also now assume if you ever see one run over in the road, they got blown out of the tree...

Times change, I sometimes want to bend the brim on my 11 year olds flatbill, or tell him not to wear bright tennis shoes hunting. Then i realize he's the only one in his class, maybe his grade, possibly his school who regularly goes with his dad. And for that I'm grateful....
