UFC marketed it as the greatest night of fighting ever. It was definitely not that. It was a great card, though. I think that's why people are bitching

That and the people today that are carrying the water for the ufc.

It’s OK that this event was great and also didn’t live up to its billing. That isn’t the fault of fight fans that admit that and those fans shouldn’t be attacked over it. Direct your ire towards Dana and their marketing.

Dana basically throwing cold water on Alex fighting Aspinal at 301 and saving that dogshit card.

Pereira walks around at the same weight as Cain Valasquez and Stipe, yet Dana says "Yeah, Alex needs to stay at 205, there are some really killers at HW."

Dana is willing to keep that division on the shelf for eternity to protect Jones. He doesn't want Alex anywhere near those guys.

Wouldn't it be crazy to deny Pereira the opportunity, though? Seems like it would be huge for PPV buys.

You’ve been crying for like 8 pages about

But it simply wasn’t an all-time “best we will ever see” card

Yet have failed to produce a card that was better from top to bottom. Go ahead. It should be easy. Give me three cards better than this, I bet you can’t

I think AP would be in trouble at heavyweight. He got slept by Izzy.

Some guys he could probably anihilate with his striking. But i think he would be qay more vulnerable to wrestling and power shots than he is at LH.

I just watched the card. Jiri Prochazka might be the toughest guy to ever fight in the UFC. Gets his legs beat to hell every fight and eats shots pushing forward. I know Poatan Ko'd him but god damn that guy is tough.

I don’t have to prove a greater hypothetical card for what we’ve been saying to be true.

You think this was the best they could do for this big time event?

You dont have to prove anything because you cant and because you are just here to complain. No card in boxing or mma history was more stacked than this card and it lived up to the billing.

I thought I heard that Pereira felt part of the reason Izzy was able to sleep him is because of the drastic weight cut to middleweight. The guy is massive, it had to have zapped him on some level to lose so much weight. Might not have had the same wherewithal and ability to take a punch when he was already fatigued from the weight cut. He moved up to LHW right after that loss to Izzy.

I think Pereira has the best shot of anyone to be the first to win a championship in three divisions. I think he will be actually, I think it's just a matter of time. He hinted at it last night, but there's no need for him to rush for 301. He's already reached a point where you could say, what else is left for him to accomplish in the fight game? The only thing left is the heavyweight title, and clearly he's already thinking about it. That and revenge against Izzy.

That was never my argument. But sure, let’s play the game. 217 was better. 100 was better.

Let’s say last night WAS the “best ever card” if that’s what you’re going with.

That can be true while at the same time underwhelming for what we were billed.

I’ll ask again: do you honestly think this was THE best card they could have put together for this monumental event?
