Espada isn't getting it done. Nice guy hires, continuity hires, and cheap hires never get it done.

Rangers fan here. We are playing like shite too and nobody up here thinks yall are done

The Astros always start slow and took care of us pretty easily. When you get healthy, you guys will be a force and I’m still picking y’all to win the West

It’s still wide open

Back of the baseball cards guys. These were too good 5 years ago to be shitty today.

My other theory: the long postseasons and shorter off-seasons over the last 7 years are finally catching up to the franchise.

This on top of Crane basically re-arranging our organization to satisfy both the gods of 1950s scouting reports and the New York Times sports section.

Man ain't wrong. There's no vocal leadership on this team

Yall remember what was going on in that Correa clip? Framber walked Yandy Diaz who bizarrely starting barking at Framber about something trying to get in his head and shake him up mentally.

That was when we saw Correa give the pep talk in the clip above. Next batter grounds into a double play and Correa is on Frambers shoulder pumping him up.

Picture how that would go today. Framber gets rattled and walks the next guy on 4 pitches then grooves a meatball for a grand slam to tie the game as all Frambers teammates stand there stone faced staring off into space with slumped shoulders.

I know that any discussion of tempering expectations on Loperfido is filtered through "yeah but Jose Abreu is batting .070".

But Loperfido hasn't actually done a whole lot outside of that series in high elevation Albuquerque with the wind blowing out.

In those 6 games he was 11/26 with a double, 5HR, 13RBI, 6 walks

So in his other games hes totaled 9/51 (.177) 2 doubles 5HR 11RBI 5 walks

If we wanted to be competitive we’d sign Brandon Belt or someone cheap but that’s not gonna happen

Yeah, we have enough guys up here not getting enough hits. Let the kid stay in AAA and get better.

Unfortunately, I think the voice in the clubhouse last year was some good old Moldy Nachos.

I think you're right. But that’s a problem in and of itself. The worst player on the team should not be the leader on the team. Ever.

Loperfido has some upside and is one of the few in our system who does, I don’t want to throw him to the wolves and ruin him. The next 1B who goes on waivers would be an improvement over who they have, much less guys like Belt, so it shouldn’t be tough to find a stopgap in the near term. There’s no reason for Abreu to see the field again. Singleton isn’t good but is a huge upgrade from Abreu in that he at least provides a AAA level at bat

Agreed, my one thing about Loperfido is that he’s an older prospect so not saying he already is who he’s going to be but not sure what’s left there to dev in the minors. Hard agree on not panic calling him up and letting him get roasted and ruin him but it’ll have to happen at some point “early” on this season. Another few weeks of regular at bats down there is probably good for him.

Kind of reminds me of Chas a bit with their timeline. Similar age and amount of at bats in the minors to this point.

Chas did lose the 2020 season though so that’s why their at bats are similar at this point actually. So not as close as a comp when taking that into account

Missed the games this weekend for a wedding. Glad I missed that shitshow of another late game meltdown on Saturday by Pressly. Hopefully the off-day allows some of the guys to re-focus
