"Good luck with that transsexual"

I just got through with the series, thought it was OK. Ending was kinda weak. Gadd and Gunning were excellent.

Keeley was the best. He also went off on a bender where he was fricking all sorts of folks and that one chick in the stall was better.

buckle up for episode 4 those who haven’t watched. It gets real dark real quick

I imagine that’s how a lot of young, vulnerable people that move to Hollywood end up getting involved with.

One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Really explored some complex human emotions and how our own fricked up self views get us in some crazy arse situations. Really well acted as well from Gadd. I think this will win a lot of awards

What a rollercoaster. Felt bad for Martha when he listened to the baby reindeer recording at the end. Hearing past traumas is heartbreaking.

I like that it inadvertently argues in favor of all gay dudes are just dudes who got sexual-trauma.

Yeah I thought this was interesting too. It definitely doesn't really place the entire LGBTQ deal in the super pure, heroic light that they are pretty much put in in every movie and show now.

I told my wife the same thing...No victim blaming, but he could have stopped all the bad things happening to him at any moment.

I mean this site loves to talk about groomers and talk about how a movie like Lightyear is grooming kids, but hates on someone that was an true victim of grooming. I mean I think it kind of showed the power a groomer could have over someone. I honestly don't think it was as easy as "he could have easily just stopped". That dude was a professional groomer and knew what he was doing.

The tranny stuff was a bit much for me, I fast forwarded through any of the intimate stuff with the trans. That part of the story was uninteresting to me, but man the Martha stuff was pretty enthralling. That kept me watching.

You're comparing kids being groomed to a man being groomed. He definitely should have manned the frick up after the first time he woke up and knew he had been fondled.

I'm talking grooming in general. I guess people stop hating on groomers on here when it's against an adult? I would have manned up and probably been sent to jail for life after I killed the dude. But not everybody is the same. He obviously had some mental issues as well and that dude messed him up. I mean he was a professional groomer, I can't relate to the dude, but I have some pity for him because he was seriously taken advantage of.

Sure, he "should" have. But the entire point was that the guy had intentionally formed an intense emotional relationship with him that he was deeply reliant on personally, emotionally, and professionally, and for a guy who probably already struggles with mental health or has super low self esteem or whatever, those lines get grey I imagine.

I thought that portion of the story was incredibly well told. Kudos to them for showing a darker side of the LGBTQ stuff that is almost forbidden to discuss at this point.

Did he ever make a good decision the entire series? It was like watching a car accident in slow motion. I thought it was pretty good too though.

This basically sums up my feelings after finishing it. I’m still not sure if I liked it, or hated it. Lol

It was well done, and there were solid performances, but ffs, the decision making from Donny basically pissed me off the entire time…to the point that, no matter how much I hated Martha, and I fricking hated her lol, I felt very little sympathy towards him.

I now think I’m going to rewatch The Detectorists again as a sort of palate cleanser after having endured baby reindeer.

I hated it. I finished it but it was hard to watch. I didn’t feel sorry for him. He’s pathetic. Lead her on from the beginning and then became obsessed with that crazy horrible women.
And the back story was even more pathetic. Let that man rape him multiple times for a promise of fame. Became bisexual because a man raped him was weak and what’s wrong with the world today.
Every time she said my baby reindeer I gaged.

Apparently the internet found out who Martha really is IRL based on the social media posts they showed in the show. She was on Piers Morgan for nearly an hour the other day.

She claims they only met a handful of times.

It has nearly 11 million views in 4 days lol

I didn’t realize the lead actor is the actual guy. That’s insane. He did a really good job.

And she denied everything and said he’s the one actually stalking her by making a show about it. She the said that “well even if the email thing is true the rest isn’t.” That’s a tactic of liars. Admit to something you feel is minor so you can say “see I’m being truthful about this so that means you should believe me when I’m lying about something else.”

And the “email thing” she was talking about was sending 40,000 emails. That’s crazy even if that’s the only thing she is admitting to doing.
