How long until whole home generators are made illegal?

10 more years of whacko progressives in charge it seems inevitable.
Of course elites will be excluded from this or can just fly away to one of their other homes.

I will personally invite the EPA boss to stay at my house after the next hurricane.

It will come in stages. They will tell you you have to get a permit from the state to ensure safety of the grid or some shite. Then they will require an annual inspection from an electrician and or fire marshal or some shite. Eventually compliance will not be worth the hassle or will price people out.

Did someone propose making them illegal recently or are you just fear mongering this morning?

They will just shut off your natural gas

Personally I don’t get the value in a whole home generator. Get one big enough to power your fridge and a window unit so you can get by a few days. If I’m in a place where power is out for week + then I just assume not be there either.
The price to include the up keep just don’t seem worth it.

Power grids are becoming increasingly unreliable
And for me living out in country even more so. I randomly lose power every couple months.

I agree with you personally but if someone wants to have a generator big enough to host a Lady Gaga concert in the middle of a hurricane I believe it should be their right to do so.

Get a solar system and they will slobber all over you. It may even work, half the time.
Better get a windmill as backup and get Conan the Barbarian to turn a water wheel. Life in the HyperBiden era.

That's why most people in rural areas up north have big propane tanks on their property and have a truck come fill them up.

Now let's compare and contrast your views of this hypothetical set of future regulations to
"They just want to get married" and how liberals have expanded the homosexual / transgender / child grooming mandates in society.
The FJB administration loves child grooming.
The FJB administration loves hydrocarbon limitations and works tirelessly to end hydrocarbons.
They have threatened to end gas stoves in residential homes. Why wouldn't they threaten residential gas home generators?

The entire green energy agenda is simply another form of control.

Go solar and add Tesla Powerwall, take your 30% tax credit and don't worry about natural gas.
Be smart and put hard start kits on your HVAC to reduce the starting load, and you'll be fine.

After a storm, a totally dark and quiet house might as well have a sign out front: Nobody home, no surveillance cameras working, come on in and bring your wagon to cart our stuff away.

This is why I’m going with propane, they’ll never get rid of Hank Hill.
And if they try I’ve got a 3 year supply of cooking with gas while the civil war wraps up.
Not just for hurricanes, Texas power companies went broke and made their entire grid based on windmills and then in winter freeze thousands of people go without power.
Nice to have a choice to insulate yourself from bad govt choices.
At some point if things don’t change it might end up being cheaper to just run the generator.
$5,000 electric bills during storm

California outlawed them.
