Fire the commie immediately. Additionally Trump must demand that all publicly funded universities must fire all communist professors and staff and anyone who works for DEI or had ever worked for DEI, or else all their public funding will be revoked. I’ll give them a semester to do it since I know it may frick up their classes come mid-January, but after that all gone.

Classic extortion: They are already paid and contractually obligated to release the grades. They are refusing to do it unless their demands are met.

This should not be on the students. This should be stamped out by the administration. The trustees of the university should get involved if need be.
Almost all university faculty jobs have jobless PhDs 5 deep who would gratefully take the job, and nothing of value would be lost. And any faculty who are actually doing meaningful research are almost certainly not participating in bullshite like this. Universities are not owned or run by faculty and don't exist for faculty to push their politics on students.

If the class isn’t important enough that it would be affecting someone’s program progression, it makes me wonder what the use of keeping this professor around is.
If it is a university core class, they typically have a lot of professors capable of teaching that.
If it is a class in a major required for progression or graduation, the school will come down hard on them.
If this is a The Songs Of Taylor Swift elective, why are they even offering it?
