I know about Louisiana's YCP program, but they only start enrolling boys at age 16. I've learned about the Thrive School in Baton Rouge, and also St. Stanislaus and the French Camp Academy in Mississippi. Does anyone know of any other boarding schools in Louisiana or nearby states for boys under 16?

Stanislaus is 7-12 grades, but makes exceptions down to 6th, maybe 5th, for boarders. Theres a 3k - 6th, co-ed, school on site too.

Boarding schools a can be very difficult on a kid. I thrived and really got some social/ academic advantages from it but it overwhelms a lot of kids, especially if their social game isn’t strong. Just know that in advance.

Stanislaus has been a nice place…you could do a helluva lot worse. The boarders fit in well…from what I’ve seen. It’s mostly a day (albeit all-boys) school.

Have you thought about the potential for a boarding school to be taken over by narco-terrorists?

I’ve sponsored kids to YCP with behavior problems,,,,I’ve gotten them when they graduated into various branches in the US Military. All have been successful. I’d highly recommend it when yours turns 16.

I attended New Mexico Military Institute. Idk what it’s like these days but it was a much better option than any public school in S LA.
