Haliburton, Maxie, and Connely come to mind, honestly Jrue could have worked.. Obviously there is a cost
The issue isn't cost. The issue is we have no chance to get any of those guys. They aren't available for a trade.

I wonder if this signing BI to smaller extension is basically just leverage for trade talks so other teams don’t think we HAVE to get rid of him even though I think we HAVE to get rid of him
That's certainly my hope.

If you could throw some picks in and snag both Ivey and Duren for BI that’s almost ideal.

Re-signing BI and not dealing him will be the end of my pels fandom

Yea I mean not thinking we need a PG Isa weird perspective. The best pg on the pels is a borderline top 10 guy on the team. As stated, the teams hanging around in the playoffs have a PG who can initiate or score. You can't run a novelty offense into the finals. Your B or C player has to be that guy and if we run Zion and BI/Murphy the other guy has to be someone like a Conley or Garland minimum. Or you need SGA.

You stuck with the team through Solomon Hill and Alexis Ajincia ... but you'll bail if we re-sign BI? OK.

Right, I feel like half of this board has gone retarded.

Jerome Moiso died for my sins. I’m stuck with this dysfunctional franchise. I just want the team to evolve

Is there a realistic number that you’d guys wouldn’t mind keeping him on?

no, bc him and Zion just clearly don't fit together.... i'd rather build around the guy who clearly gives a shite, and finally looks like the leader we need him to be...

I think a realistic point guard that could be available would be Schroeder. I know a lot of yall aren’t going to like that, but I’d like to see him here.

A weird perspective is thinking Mike Conley is somehow the floor general for the Wolves and that he makes their offense tick. He has the 4th highest usage rate amongst their rotation players, and he's only percentage points ahead of their 3 and D wing (McDaniels) and the prototypical low usage center (Gobert).

I'd obviously love to have an awesome point guard. Unfortunately, those guys are tough to acquire. I think a swing for Garland could make sense, not only is he a good passer like many on this board want, he also has shown good 3 point shooting chops and he should be able to play some off ball.

he has had an up and down year just like BI, so he may actually be attainable, and I think the Cavs will likely be trying to mix things up in an effort to keep Mitchell this offseason.

What’s the worst trade/deal you would accept for Ingram?

Honest question, since you wouldn’t be willing to bring him back for $35M if we find no deals to our liking.

I’d like to move him too, but I’d need a certain level of player back. I’m not taking back a mediocre player and some future 1st’s from a contender like we did in the Jrue trade.

Look at that Jrue trade now. It did nothign to make us better, and no we didn't need it to get CJ.
There is no point in trading BI for role players and more picks that we don't really need. You can see he obviously has a lot more value than most of you thought, and we shoudl be using it to upgrade our #1 perimeter scorer position.

To be fair, I think Griffin was banking on Giannis leaving and trying to do right by Jrue.

Ok kewl. Let’s not make the centerpiece of the BI trade hope. It’s a terrible trade return.

It just hurts looking back bc there were rumors of Huerter and 6 for Jrue. Golden State had the 2nd pick and was also rumored to want Jrue.

Look idk if our front office would’ve drafted the right player or not, but even if you just turned Jrue into #6 and Huerter, theoretically we would’ve had a shot at Tyrese Haliburton in that draft. And you can say that’s hindsight, but there were a lot of fans of him on this board pre draft. Huerter also would’ve been a nice shooting fit on this team around Zion and with a PG like Hali.

Instead we traded Jrue for Bledsoe, Adams and shitty picks. I understand wanting to do right by a player to an extent, but as a front office you should value doing right for your organization and fanbase vs the guy that is requesting a trade.

God forbid we ended up with Houseman. More likely we end up with Melo Ball.

If BI signs and extension is there a period that he cannot be traded? Or is that only for signed free agents but not extensions? Either way I'm not sure it really matters and I don't think they'd immediately trade him if signing an extension.
