TD2 has formed off the east coast and is expected to become TS Bill later today

so if the Gulf disturbance becomes a tropical system it will likely be Claudette

What does the giant Saharan Dust Storm do to all this development? Does it quash it, or does it make them flood you, and sand the paint off of your house?

Saharan sand storm coming to the southern USA.

I hate early season name wasting stat padding storms. I hate burning through the name list for fish storms.

Depends on the COFU. (cone of frigging uncertainty)

Put it this way, it was in the mix last season, too.

It can have an impact on development, as logic tells us that the SAL and the dust it carries represents dry air. It isn't necessarily a deal breaker, though. There are other things at play that can counter that, and reduce its impact.

Yeah I follow this stuff fairly closely and don’t even remember the name or location of the A storm.

I vaguely recall it occurring but that’s it.

it was in late May and was close enough to warrant a tropical storm watch for Bermuda

just saying that the A storm wasn't a complete fish storm... there was some concern about a landfall that a watch had to be put out

Hurricane Claudette dropped the hammer on Port O'Connor, Texas in 2003.

sounds like a pair you'd meet at a prohibition era speakeasy who would lure you upstairs and when you come to the next morning all you have left are a few new rashes

Hey, baw....I've been collecting hail spikes ever since you went on your kick about them a while back.
I've got some screenshots of a couple pretty good ones out of SW Texas a while back.
