Lake Charles Lunch Recs

Heading to Lake Chuck Thursday for work. Hearing will probably be wrapped up around 11:30. Any recs for lunch before I get back on the road? I've been to Luna (and it was awesome), but it's been years. If Darrell's is truly it, I'll gladly stop by.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Decent po-sandwich - it's not a NOLA style po-boy.
Balls fried chicken ftw!

Rikenjaks, Botsky's, Panorama Music House, Cajun's Wharf, Buffi's Peaux Boys. All good stuff.

Get a muffuletta at Pronias.

I second the muffuletta at Pronia’s. Good stuff

Mazen’s - 217 W. College , just off 210 one block from Darrell’s … solid groceries and IMO, one of the top dining places in LC. I’m in LC monthly for business and have eaten at Mazen at least a dozen times. Never left disappointed

Darrells and Luna are always good choices.
Laguna's is downtown by the lake and good for mexican.
The Bekery has great food and quite the experience.
Pronia's as mentioned above.
Tony's is good for pizza and has a good italian sub.
Rickenjak's is solid. Panorama Music house just opened back up but I haven't been yet.

Luna is definitely the best option IMO.
Darrell's is worth trying if you've never had it, but it's not overly great and is definitely not a true poboy.
Tony's is very good as well, their house dressing and whatever that tony's sauce to put on your pizza is great.
I only had Mazen's once for dinner when I lived there and it was damn good! Never been for lunch though.

121 Artisan Bistro and The James 710 are within a few miles of courthouse on Dr Michael Debakey Drive, food and drink options at both plus the other previously mentioned places.

I know I'm in the minority, but I like Darrell's. However, my favorite there is the bbq beef w/ jalapeño mayo.

Depends what you are looking for. Most of the suggestions that have already been mentioned are good. Just want to throw in another: Calla
Same owners as 121 and the James but better than both. My favorite restaurant I’ve been to so far in LC
Eta: I’d also throw in Villa Harlequin on Pujo street in downtown

most people love darrells. Its the nola group always getting their panties in a wad. Its a poboy on NOLA french bread.
go and I suggest getting a small special with jalopeno mayo and a small shrimp with jal mayo.
if you want something else
Lunas
121
Calli
Villa harliquin
Mazens
all great choices and so are others offered in the thread.

Ball's has closed and demolished the store near the campus. The Enterprise location will reopen soon - perhaps early next month.

Tony’s meatball poboy still does it for me
Is Cottons still around? I can still remember the bag being soaked when I’d get my to go order home. Those onion strings though

It's a hoagie roll baw, nothing french about that bread they give you.
It is a good sandwich for sure, but nothing compared to the hype it gets.
