If this is the same one that is in Biloxi I think the bbq is good. I go to an event every year that they cater.

Smokin' Aces in Denham Springs is the best BBQ around BR area.
The place on Coursey, across from Salad Station and next to Anton's used to be good BBQ. Something happened with ownership I believe and it went to shite overnight.

Where is Oak and Smoke located?
I'm always up for great BBQ. As a reference, I like Smitty's in Lockhart for best brisket. 2M Smokehouse in San Antonio ranks up there as well for great brisket and beef rib. Black's BBQ (Lockhart, Austin, and New Braunfels) does a great beef rib as well. Coopers in New Braunfels has a great pork chop and even though it's not BBQ, Hard 8 (Coppell) does a phenomenal ribeye over open coal. Pecan Lodge (Dallas - Deep Ellum) has great brisket too.

Oak and Smoke is a popup. They rotate mostly the same spots. Gotta follow their page.

Barbosa (I think that was his name) had great brisket, but I believe he moved to Colorado. He did pop-ups as well.

They don’t compare to those great TX bbq places but i do think they’re by far the best we have around BR

I don't have any expectation that they will. I think people in Baton Rouge are so used to average or below average BBQ (Podnuh's, Sonny's (although they have great smoked chicken), BRQ, TJ's (they aren't BBQ, but I do enjoy their ribs), etc. that they overemphasize how good a new BBQ restaurant really is. Time will tell.
If they're successful, people will support them. In my opinion, Central TX BBQ is the best I have ever had. I don't understand why it is so difficult for business owners to not study why the Texas restaurants known for BBQ --- and are staples so to speak for their Q --- and try to mimick that over here.

Place started out so good and then apparently there was some takeover where the building owners booted the pitmaster. The food there is horrible now. Baked ribs. Baked brisket. Canned sides. No clue how there are still cars in their parking lot.
