Le Triomphe membership prices/networking vs Oakbourne vs Cane Row

Not trying to bring up the ole “which is better currently” argument but do have a few questions about each.
I’ve seen a PDF/brochure that had membership pricing based on age however I can’t find it anywhere online now. I remember the under 30 membership being super reasonable.
I’m an entrepreneur under 30 and looking to join a club for the golf but also networking with bigger fish in the Acadiana area. I live in the Broussard area. Does Le Triomphe still have a solid network of business guys or have they all gone to Oakbourne?
Amenities for my family would be a big plus too!
ETA: Bonus points if you have that document that I was referring too and/or Oakbourne membership prices

There are already a bunch of insurance salesmen at these facilities.

Haha I’m proud to say I am not in insurance bud

Not to hijack your post, but has anyone heard anything about the Korn Ferry Tour returning to LeTriomphe?
Posted on 3/9/25 at 6:25 pm to BayouBengal23
One way for sure never to be asked to join a club is to say that you would like to join for networking purposes
ETA: but I guess you don’t have to be invited into the places you mentioned.

Nope. Not returning to Louisiana. Not LT nor Lake Charles.

Networking, more difficult course - Oakborne
Easier to play (not as overplayed), food, practice facilities - LT
Note: LT no longer has a pool to enjoy with your family.

Go to LT. We don't need any more people.

In the old days, the “under 30” guys did not get to play much.
Now with “work from home”, many of them play every single day.
I don’t think memberships should be discounted for anybody in this “peak golf” era.
I’m retired and everyone is playing everyday. Yesterday was cold and rainy- still crowded.
I don’t think discounted membership are necessary under the current demand situation.

A lot of courses base membership on age. I looked at both Indian Hills and Northriver in Tuscaloosa. Both would cost me about 2 grand a year more at age 59 than 39.
I refused to pay more just because of my age, so it was public golf courses. RTJ at Capital Hill doesn’t, so I did join there after I moved.

Social scene - Oakbourne
Everything else - LT though with Troon taking over the social stuff at LT has improved. Course also in the best shape its ever been.
The last bitch GM at LT tore out a perfectly fine pool as a frick you on her way out but supposedly Troon building a new pool by summer 2026

I don't have the latest junior or young executive membership rates... I am 39 so I'm about to convert to stock.
Been a member since 2011. Best time to join is that 18-34 age range. Membership rates are much more reasonable.
Initiation fee went from 5,000 to 7,500 last year due to passing the 450 stock member mark. Dues have gone up 5-7% every year since about 2020. The last 5 years have been rough - they have increased rapidly, and by a lot.

Thats a lot of stock members. Are early weekend tee times difficult to get?

At oakbourne yes. Very much so
And expect 5 hour rounds if starting at 10

Wrong. I can count on 1 hand the number of times in 10 years I haven't been given the exact Sat/Sun tee time I asked for. You just have to call the pro shop right at 8:00 when they open it up for the day you want (48 hr advance).

10 does not equal early. I play in the 7:45 - 8:15 window usually. My 4some is done by 12:00. I rarely have slow play issues.
The 10:00 window on the weekend is usually the big money game group, so yea, you're going to have a busier tee sheet then (even though I doubt it's 5 hours).
The busiest day at OCC is Friday and it's not close. 12:00 - 1:00 tee time window on Friday is almost impossible to get.

That's a great deal. That's essentially cheaper than any club in Houston

There’s a lot more competition than 2 clubs, and you’re not sniffing that anymore
