I remember Chris almost beating his arse.

Should have actually beaten his arse, maybe we wouldn't have as many "hot take" retards on sports radio

Jim Rome was the real dog.

30 year old man here. I used to love watching the lineup of Jim Rome is Burning, OG Around the Horn, and OG Pardon the Interruption, in that order.

I wish Everett would have beat Rome’s arse.

I’ve tried to listen to Rome a few times over the years, and I swear the whole show must be an inside joke, because I could never figure out what the frick he was talking about.

Great moment in sports history and Everett deserved it for how he played.
Jim Rome is awesome.
Dammit Julio!

That whole thing was fake for Rome’s ratings. Nobody knew who he was before then.

This is true sometimes if you tune in mid-show. He is probably the most prepared sports talk show host though.
His dialogue for the first 20 minutes of every show is always money, then he has several rants written for every show that are hilarioius and make for great convo.
Although he's good at interviews, that's probably the worst part of his show because athletes are boring to listen to.

When Jim Rome started he was a young guy in an emerging industry: Sports Talk Radio.
His bosses believed that sports talk should be caller driven. One call after another, and at least three calls per segment. Anyone that’s ever listened to that type of format knows that callers are idiots and a bog down a show. So, Jim Rome began hanging up on the boring callers, and gave a private line to the better ones.
He cheated the system his bosses placed on him. That’s why his show seems insular. I’m not a fan, but I appreciate the way he carved his own path and developed a niche, but still large, audience.

He had a line-up...same guys who won smackoffs.
It was a semi-scripted show.

Toby in Houston still a legend. Larry Brown's crank right next to his face.

Still makes me laugh. Jim was rattled for a few segments.
Larry Brown's Crank.
Jim's rant on Bill Parcells using "Jap plays" is one of my favorite rants. It's one of those things where I don't know if Jim was really offended or he loved how ridiculous it was.
