From this point forward who would you rather have Purdy or Dak?

I think I'm taking Purdy.

They're basically the same dude. Weak arms. No killer instinct. Athletic but not freaky. Bad decision makers in the biggest plays.
One costs 800K.
One cost $50M.
The answer is kind of simple.

Purdy just finished his first full season as starter. He probably will get better over time. Dak is who he is at this point. There is no upside beyond where he already is.
Plus Purdy is very cheap at the moment.

I think I'd still take Purdy even if they made the same cap money. I can't get over how bad Dak looked against GB.

Purdy. He was a big part in winning the game tonight. Couple of fluke plays go differently and the defense doesn’t shite the bed in OT, and dude is a champion.

I’d love to revisit this topic in exactly two years.
Dak is frequently a top 5 QB during random weeks throughout the season. His off weeks and playoff games are his downfall.
Purdy is consistently above average, with a few great weeks, and a few down weeks.
Experience between the two would indicate Dak has hit his ceiling, while Purdy has a lot of room for growth.
However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dak gets over the hump in the next couple of seasons, nor would I be shocked if he’s no longer a starting QB heading into 2026.
Likewise with Purdy. I’m not so sure he hasn’t already hit his ceiling, but he could also be a Top 5 QB by then. In other words, I have no idea. I’ll bump this thread after the Santa Clara Super Bowl in 2026.

Is this one of those "they're the same picture" memes?

Purdy I think just fits this system. But a niners friend of mine agrees. If one offensive weapon is out, the team levels off fast. There really is no next man up he goes to. Not sure if that is an offensive coaching problem or a Purdy problem.

Dak is like the 12th highest paid QB in the league at this point. Purdy will eventually be overpaid as well.
I’m a big Dak fan, but I’d probably roll with Purdy due to him being younger. That is about it. I would like to see Dak on a smarter team with a smarter coach. I think Dallas gives him a platform, but also holds him back to an extent. Every Dallas game I watch, they have 4-5 random players with Key and Peele skit type names committing atrocious personal fouls.

Right now purdy only because of salary

Dak has four interceptions in his last two playoff games, neither of which were conference championships, much less the Super Bowl. Purdy went up against Mahomes and played well enough to win in a Super Bowl.
Dak folds like a cheap suit when the games really count for something.

Literally hours after the Super Bowl and we are talking about the Cowboys.

Dak is the better QB right now.
When you factor in age, salary and the fact that Purdy isn’t in his prime yet, then Purdy is the better option.
