NHL Fanatics Authentic Pro Jerseys already out for $425

from the NHL website
Looking at the Florida Panthers home site, they are only selling the "Premium Authentic" which is some crazy word play to fool unsuspecting buyers into think they're getting the "Authentic Pro."

In comparison to the Premium ($230)

All the way down to Breakaway ($175)

Just buy one from temu for $20

Don't they control most of the jersey/apparel market now? If so, how did this happen?

Before they sold their own Fanatics branded gear they would sell all jerseys and fan gear. They absolutely own the American sports apparel market now. NHL probably got an offer they couldn't refuse from Fanatics. Adidas pulling out worried most hockey fans because the sweater quality is very important. Most freaked out when they got rid of the shoulder dimples.

what’s crazy is Nike paid out the ads to make MLB jerseys and then somehow agreed to let Fanatics actually produce their jerseys and then Nike took the complete heat for them being shite.

I bought a fanatics t shirt a year or 2 ago and it was complete shite. Planned obsolesce, maybe? I've had many t shirts for 5-10 years that are in great shape. Already had to throw that one away.

W/ how fanatics controls almost all the markets for sports apparel now, you can probably find a knockoff that’s equal quality or maybe even better

I hate that almost every website is a "Fanatics experience" now.
If they don't have the specific item or size you're looking for, you're basically screwed because there aren't many alternatives anymore.

They’re made according to Nike specs.

It’s true that Fanatics is manufacturing the game jerseys for Nike. But (a) Fanatics has been manufacturing Nike’s MLB game uniforms for four years now, because Fanatics owns the old Majestic factory in Pennsylvania, so there’s nothing new about that arrangement, and (b) they’re manufacturing the uniforms according to Nike’s design specs. In other words, Fanatics is basically serving as a subcontractor here. They do what they’re told by their client, and the client is Nike.
More Info

A series of frantic phone calls and emergency meetings over the next couple of hours assured everyone at Fanatics what it already knew: Fanatics had made the uniforms to Nike’s exact specifications, in the same Pennsylvania factory in which Fanatics had produced the previous MLB jerseys since buying Majestic in 2017. It was Nike that decided to scale back the lettering by a third, rendering them impossible to read from any sort of distance. It was Nike that wanted to cut back stitching by 25 percent, leading to the blowouts. It was Nike that wanted to switch to a fabric it had used in track and soccer uniforms, leading to the amorphous sweat stains creeping across players’ torsos. It was Nike that decided to switch the gray dye in the pants, deeming it “within a level of tolerance” in comparison with the dye used in the jerseys, said an industry source who was granted anonymity so they could speak freely. It was Nike that felt it couldn’t simply keep producing the Majestic jersey and slapping a swoosh on it, because, well, how is that a Nike jersey?

Hoodies are $120 from Nike, I’ll buy my team gear through Sam’s Club when it goes on clearance or DHGate.
However, I was able to get a lot of Texans gear for 90% off a couple years back when they were absolute arse through Dicks Sporting Goods.

I can second that, in both the materials used as well as the graphics added. They shrink terribly and the artwork fades. I have two shirts I bought 18 months ago that I only use for yard work or exercise now.
Meanwhile, I still have quite a few t-shirts that are older than ten years, including one that is 23 years old and looks great that I wore for the game Saturday.

This is what people fail to understand when it comes to purchasing the best thing available at Fanatics for player gear. NHL On Ice jerseys are essentially trading owners from Adidas to Fanatics with slight mods to the uniforms that deal more with the seams and shoulders. It's the same factory doing the work in Canada.
I purchased a Breakaway Fanatics NHL jersey two years ago and regret it because it's a shitty iron on logo vs actual embroidery.
However, the championship gear they make they is "locker room issue" is pure shite. I've seen stuff from the Panthers reddit about how there are incomplete stitches and missing parts on a lot of apparel.

I wouldn't buy from the team store anyway. It will be littered with rotten ads. Any other retailer won't sell them stained with that filth.
I'll eventually get whatever the version the players wear is.
