Why do people keep paying a guy who quits every few years. This seems ridiculous

Every program he touches turns to gold. His name alone probably nets you a top 1-3 recruiting class in consecutive years. Had he not quit he would have likely surpassed Saban as greatest of all time.

Moron known as Kosmo claims Meyer can't recruit without some admin guy named Pantoni.

But won't answer why meyer had the 5th, 1st, and 2nd ranked recruiting classes in the 3 years before Pantoni was hired at Florida.

Too funny

I believe Urban is taking the Texas job, and there will be an announcement this weekend.

Urban will have "heart issues" after losing to OU

Cristobal is one hell of a recruiter, but jury is out on his coaching.

It goes without saying that Urban Meyer is Texas’ top choice. However, should Meyer choose not to leave his job as an analyst at FOX, who could Texas go to should it still decide to make a change? According to CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd, Penn State’s James Franklin and Oregon’s Mario Cristobal would be next in line.

BTW, Pantoni wasn't the recruiting director at Florida in 2008 or 2009. He was a 'program assistant'.

So he was involved?

In what?

Pantoni has a 1 inch thumbnail on a page with about 30 other low-level support staff. In a section of the media guide that devotes a full page or more to noted staff - like Marotti.

So Pantoni HAD to be consulted before Meyer took the Ohio State HC job?

OK, Dude, but check your meds

$10 million per year for Urb at Michigan? The ROI looks like a good deal for Michigan.

That's more embarrassing than losing to Ohio State 15 years in a row.

I actually think it's money well spent for Michigan. So they pay $4 million per year above market, so what? They'll get exponential value by being a NC contender every year. It's actually a good investment if it works out, which it will.

. The offer is expected to be in the ballpark of roughly $12 million per season, which is higher than current contracts owned by both Harbaugh ($8M) and Alabama head coach Nick Saban ($9M).

This is the shite Kirk was talking about. A ridiculous arms race for the few and title or bust for the school and fans.

That’s what Saban did until he decided to stay at Alabama for eternity.
