No way in the world Meyer is going to Michigan. Guy grew up in Ohio and the rivalry has been in his blood since birth. He may go to Texas or USC should that opportunity present itself but no way Michigan.

If he is willing to coach. Texass will not lose him because of money. Just a fact.

Meyer isn't going to go coach Michigan

Urban will have "heart issues" after losing to OU
Little Lincoln would get pantsed by Meyer at Texas.

If Urban Meyer returns to coaching and goes to a place like Texas or Michigan, then he is becoming more of a “hired gun” than Saban ever was. Urban stays somewhere just long enough to make people believe he is committed to finishing his career there, then he has a health episode/issue, takes a few years off and does media work, and finally gets a job at another big time program. Rinse and repeat.

Meyer isn't going to Michigan. Not Texas either, but that would be more likely.

the state of Cal. is a shite show and the cost of living plus their state income taxes are higher then other states looking for a great coach
Those may not matter to Urbs but hiring assistant coaches and support staff to come to CA. compared to TX or MI would matter. 100K in CA means you have to share a small home or an apartment with someone.
Isnt the neighborhood and surrounding area around USC a crap fest?

The University of Michigan's athletic department has projected $196.3 million in revenues for the 2020 fiscal year, with a balanced budget featuring $196.3 million in operating expenses.
That's up roughly $6 million from the final projection for the 2019 fiscal year, which landed at $190.7 million. The athletics budget was formally presented to the Board of Regents in Ann Arbor on Thursday.
In 2019, Michigan projected an athletic department surplus of $1 million, with $189.7 million in expenses.

These are pre-Covid numbers so that is how the athletic department was tracking unimpeded.
a $200MM a year revenue company offering a CEO $12MM?
That is laughably bad.

If it fricks over Texas, then I'm all for it...especially if they wind-up with James Franklin.
Posted on 12/5/20 at 8:13 am to RummelTiger
Franklin is not a hot commodity today and he is at his dream school PSU. I doubt he is on anyone's top 5 which list unless you are a lower to mid level power 5 school like Vandy or wake forest.

didnt say you were an arse picker but Dennis Dodd's article is his opinion. How many arse holes in the media had NS going to Texas as a done deal several times. These are probably leaked names from agents.
UT fans would go ape nuts if James Franklin as the best they could get.
Cristobal would be a good choice but to shoot for URBS and then have to settle for James Franklin would be a boner killer.

If true, how hypocritical of the high and mighty Michigan men.

doesn't really matter b/c Michigan can't outbid Texas, since Texas is more desperate and has deeper pockets, plus it is HIGHLY unlikely Urban would have anything to do with Michigan, considering his past connection to Ohio St.... highly unlikely...
anyway, if he's fired, Harbaugh is going back to the NFL as an OC somewhere... can't see him staying in college...

Hes already reportedly turned Texas down twice and they just keep coming back
Which is the same thing Saban did to Alabama. When you know a program is desperate and you are literally the only available coach who is a guaranteed home run hire, you make them beg. And it is not about getting more money. It is about demanding more control than good ole boy programs like Alabama or Texas have ever been willing to give up. And ultimately that is the only way to turn around programs like Texas who have always been run more like country clubs than football teams. You bring in a complete alpha male with 100% fan loyalty who can tell everyone to kiss his arse.

I can't believe a college would still consider laying a coach this much given my reading of the current football and political landscape.

I don't see him ever coaching at Michigan after the career he had at Ohio State.
