Is the Mythbusters prank from “Baghdad Battery ” the cringiest thing ever?

Background. Season 2 or 3. Build team tests the myth of the ancient Baghdad Battery. They decided to pull a prank on Adam. They hook up the device to an actual cattle prod/electric fence generator, which has more than enough juice to kill someone.
Adam senses something is amiss, and even straight up asks the Build Team if they’ve hooked it up to the cattle prod thingy. Build Team denies it.
Adam touches it and receives a horrible shock. He’s noticeably unwell. In the Behind the Scenes episode, the unedited footage he has to take a walk outside to calm himself down.

Additional backstory: someone else behind the scenes was allegedly the original instigator of the prank.
The episode had major repercussions for the show. The producer was let go. Scottie’s departure opened the door for Grant Imhara to join.
Still, it’s got to be one of the biggest “how did this make it to air?” moments of any reality show ever. You clearly see a sense of betrayal on Adam’s face.

He was pissed. And should have been. It didn’t seam like a little shock.

Odd that a show that stresses safety would show a careless, almost dangerous prank.

Thanks. You just have to see it to understand just how awful the prank was.

High voltage - low amps. Apparently non-lethal; just quite painful.

Well yeah. 3 subordinate employees lied to his face and he's one of the leads on his show. AND it hurt quite a bit.

Being legitimately shocked is extremely unpleasant. If it had been like a static shock, ok. Thats fine. But a fricking cattle prod? I might be in a fighting mood afterwards.

The fact that Scottie shocked herself, legitimately saw how painful it was and STILL decided to prank Adam was reckless on her part and that of the young interns

Stupid, in that they thought it was 'funny' ,but no, not cringy.
For a show that talked about safety, that was a real bone head moment.

Those aren't going to kill a person. I've used them before and they hurt like hell, though. That was a shitty thing to do to the guy.

The only episode I remember was the one about her farting. Can't remember if they caught her in the act.
