True or False: Clone Wars final season eps 9-12 are the best Star Wars content since ESB

I randomly decided to rewatch the final season. Once Ashoka gets called by Bo Katan to go find Maul at the end of episode 8, in my opinion, it’s the best Star Wars content since Empire Strikes Back.
Kevin Kiner goes full on Vangelis with his score, the visual shots are fricking Oscar worthy, it’s just unreal in the quality of animated tv we get to see.
It really ratchets up with Ashoka’s unbelievably bad arse landing on Mandalore. Then continues with the brilliant hinting from Maul on what’s going to happen to Anakin, then the awesome battle between them. It’s nonstop amazing television.
Her and Maul sensing Anakin killing Mace on coruscant, her beloved Clones turning on her and the race to get rid of Rex’s chip. Then the escape and no dialogue while the beautiful score plays over the clones funeral, then the flash forward to Vader finding her saber.
So freaking good, weaving in and connecting to Revenge of the Sith, the familiar motifs that were in the movie from John Williams. Her battling so many Clones to escape just gives you the proper appreciation for how hard it would’ve been to survive 66, that and Maul talking about how genius of a plan it was by the Emperor.
These four episodes boat race any content not named A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.
Random comment, I love how Ahsoka uses her sabers to lighten her falls. Nobody else does that but it’s so bad arse.

It's the last piece of George Lucas star wars anyone will ever see. Very sad.

I’ve been thinking about a rewatch. Where should I pick up? Going all the way back to season one is a big commitment.

Yes, yes it is.
Order 66 is an interesting story.

Huh?
George had nothing to do with that.

The Clone wars, Ahsoka, Bo Katan, all of the characters and stories were created by George Lucas.
Where did you think Dave Filoni cut his teeth?
Those last episodes had already been written before it was canceled after the Disney acquisition. Then Disney allowed them to get created later on, which is the last season.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a computer-animated television series created by George Lucas.[1] It is set in the fictional Star Wars galaxy during the three years between the prequel films Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Lucas called it a continuation of the previous Genndy Tartakovsky produced 2003 Clone Wars series.
George Lucas had always said that Star Wars would have been best served as a TV series like Star Trek, and he used the Clone Wars to fill in the gaps he thought were lacking in the prequels.
Here's a ringer article about it

On Monday, Disney snipped the last link to George Lucas’s decades-long tenure as the steward of Star Wars. Fifteen years after Lucas presided over preproduction of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the animated series has reached its long-delayed conclusion. The seventh and final season of The Clone Wars, which returned from a six-year hiatus in February, bowed out with a May 4 finale that saw the prequel-spanning series catch up to—and briefly vault past—the conclusion of Episode III. Season 7’s 12-episode send-off was largely intended to tie up loose ends and bid goodbye to a show and an era that hold a special significance for many Star Wars fans who were weaned on the prequels.

Yes it’s a masterpiece
I just finished Rebels again and while it has its highs and is good it’s not close to Clone Wars. And I hate Ezra. Finally getting around to Bad Batch, interesting to see Padawan Kanan

Not familiar. Are these cartoons?

Yes, fills in the gaps from Ep 2 right up until order 66.
You see a realistic, gradual turn for Anakin, what happened to Maul and what he’s been up to since Ep 1, and probably the best non-film character Star Wars has in Ashoka Tano, Anakins apprentice.
Early seasons are good, but for me it turns it on in season 4. Final season is peak Star Wars, except for those stupid sisters who take up 3 episodes

Definitely true. They really went all out on it and it showed

100% true! Currently rewatching with my son.

Truth! I’ve been telling people since I watched it that if you cut the Siege of Mandalore arc as a film it would be top 3 in the SW canon at worst. Every episode was perfect, it was such a fitting end to the series and tie-in with the events of order 66.
