Kurt killed himself, but I honestly think it was just to escape everything. He couldn't take it anymore.
For anyone who paid attention to anything he said over the years in quotes, he is quoted as saying heroin was the only thing keeping him from shooting himself. Nirvana recorded a song called "I hate myself and want to die." That was his response when someone asked him how he was doing.
From the interviews I've seen he couldn't understand why everyone took his band so seriously. Fans took it more seriously than he did! There were copy cat suicides.

In that interview, 4 months before he died, literally says on MTV, "take a bunch of drugs and kill myself." But no one pays attention.

She was in movies years before she met Kurt. She comes from a well known family. Every relative on her Wikipedia has a page of their own. Going back to grandparents.

Billy Corgan wrote half of the songs on their 3rd album...I wouldn't be surprised if Kurt did some ghost writing on their 2nd album. He did sing backing vocals on it, and gave Hole a song he wrote and they played it on their unplugged set.

That's because he attempted suicide when he was in Rome by ingesting a bunch of pills and champagne.
They have proven that when he escaped rehab in California and flew back to Seattle, that he took a cab to a gun store to buy the shotgun shells.
He was bi-polar, depressed, and on massive amounts of drugs. Everything in his life was unstable.

I was surprised to learn this from a deep dive spurned from a prior OT Cobain thread a while back.
