Can someone explain to me one single positive this swap accomplished? Millions of dollars and years of construction and traffic is just as bad as ever.

No loop for you sir.

Westbound I-10 traffic doesn't have to cross over 30 lanes in 40 seconds.

It keeps Nissan and Charger/Challenger drivers from swerving across five lanes at the last second to exit at College.

If you're retarded, maybe. The new configuration is going to be so much better for I-10 people trying to get off at College.

So much safer. Once finished, no one will have to cross lanes to exit.

With the bumper to bumper traffic that is omnipresent, the Nissan Altimas still had 15 minutes to cross their 4 lanes.

Right now it makes no sense, because instead of people from 10 having to go all the way across lanes to get off on College, now 12 has to do that. I think the DOTD just wanted the I-12 drivers to understand what us I-10 drivers have been dealing with for years, before having it all fixed.

?? I12 drivers do not have to cross all the lanes that 10 did

When it is finished, 12 exiters will continue strait before the crossover like a normal exit.
Notice the orange lane...

Are you just angry because it changed? I drove it yesterday from I-10 and my thought was “Damn, this is nice”

Main thing I see is that it stops people from saying “frick this shite” and getting out of the exit lanes at College to get back on 10.
Plenty of accidents caused by high speed traffic having to react to douchebags doing that.

They opened that one this Wednesday. OP is mad that this change didn't magically erase traffic from everywhere else in BR

As an I-12 user, I used to be able to ride the right most lane and move quick. Since the swap I’m stuck on the other side and it takes at least another 10 minutes to get to Acadian.

So to answer OP, we spent years and millions for a safer log jam

Agree
But is that worth 200 million or whatever it cost?

What did those newly planted trees accomplish?
They will become a tree removal project when the lanes are widened in the next project in 2050. Either that or they will become target practice for all the cars that exit the roadway.

No, because you are too dense to understand why it is a positive.

They can do all everything they can think of, but as long as the Mississippi River Bridge only has two lanes on each side, it will not fix anything. The only way to fix that problem is to reduce the amount of traffic. The way you reduce traffic is provide another option. There needs to be something that connects Iberville, East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Iberville, Ascension and Livingston Parish.
Ideally, this will separate the "work traffic" with the "passing through" traffic.
The ferry is another option, but its not ideal. Its much better when they run to boats, but you can't rely on it 100% of the time. It doesn't take much for things to get backed up, etc. And all of the bullshite about funding or whatever else they say.. is bullshite, because government seems to always find the money to build things those in power want built. They make things happen when its in their best interest.

He’s just pissed because he can’t drive 80 MPH in the right lane all the way to Acadian. But what he doesn’t want to grasp is that this change was done to accommodate I10’drivers exiting on College. Not him. He’s part of the reason exiting College from 10 was such a shite show.
