If you like hiking, get the All Trails app. There’s so many good hiking trails around there. The Thomas Trail Loop trail in green mountain falls leads you to be right next to this insanely powerful waterfall. It’s incredible. The trail was a little difficult to navigate at first, but if you download the trail map and use gps, you can figure it out. Also, all the trails at Cheyenne Mountain State Park are really nice too.

No stop, it’s definitely a liberal hell hole. Don’t encourage anyone to move here

I was stationed at Fort Carson for 3 years, and lived on the side of Cheyenne Mountain. I loved every minute of it. Growing up in New Orleans and going to New Orleans Public Schools I remember when diversity stole my bike, it never made any of us stronger. Cheyenne Mountain High School in District 12 is straight out of a John Hughes movie, something I never saw in New Orleans or anywhere on LA. I still own my house in COS and may move back one day, it is a wonderful place to live and I certainly miss it.

Someone asked me once where to get good southern cooking, I told him in my kitchen. Just like Joe Dirt said, "Home is where you make it." My heart will always be in Who Dat Nation, but I never plan to move back there.

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

MS, LA, OK are only a handful of states that there are no decent places to live

For poor people like yourself, this may be true, however, there are nice places to live in all 3 of those states if you make a lot of money.

It seems like only housing is more expensive

Just pulled it up on realtor.com and housing there is less expensive or at least the same as anywhere you’ll find in the mountains of GA, SC or NC. I was surprised.

I'm a child of the Gulf (of America) Coast. My line runs from Pass A Grille, FL to Port A. Texas. Just plop me down somewhere in between. Hate cold and love seafood. I'll look at your beautiful mountain photos on my computer.

ETA: didn't intend for the last sentence to come across as negative. The mountains (White Mountains in NH, Nantahala in NC, Rocky Mtns Nat'l Park in CO) are all spectacular. But they are the antithesis of my 'home' all along the Gulf Coast.

Fantastic! That part of town is awesome. So close to everything. Established. Kids school just went on a field trip to the zoo. Wife and I took a foot tour of the hotel (amazing place). Gold camp road, the canyon, Bear Creek. Coming from Northshore, everything around y'all is at another level! Wouldn't mind living in that area eventually.

Colorado Springs is pretty good value for the state. Denver metro, Boulder, or in the mountains along the 70 corridor is where the expensive real estate is.

Worked in Pueblo and people were nice there.

My few months in Boulder was a cultural challenge being around a bunch of trust fund babies.

Kind of the armpit of Colorado. A buddy of mine lived there and complained about how ghetto it was. I visited every year and never found it to be that bad. It would get brutally hot, but I can’t ever say the place is worse than BR or my current home.
