Crazy murder story down the street from my house

I live in the adjacent subdivision less than a mile away. We rarely have any violent crime to speak of and it's probably the safest area of town.

Anyway here are some snippets

What type of psychotic rage would make it possible for a 72 year old man to kill his 47 year old daughter, his 18 year old grandson and almost kill his 21 year old grandson with a "stick" of all things?

Something doesn't add up here
