Guam is about to get wrecked by a category 4 Typhoon

We would refer to this system as a hurricane here in the United States. However in the Western Pacific, these are referred to as Typhoons. It's the same thing. Because this is in the Northern Hemisphere, the typhoon swirls in the same direction as our hurricanes, counter-clockwise. As a result, a Typhoon WARNING has been issued for Guam and a tropical storm warning for the Mariana Islands. People on the islands are being urged to rush preparations to completion. Storm surge could be up to 30 feet which would be devastating for the island nation.
Congressman Hank Johnson is still wondering if Guam will tip over at some point

I feel like typhoon is a cooler name than hurricane.

Oh man that’s terrible. Hopefully Red Cross is mobilizing.
This going to be a catastrophe for them.

Hank and Maxine Waters are by far two of the dumbest people walking the earth but what does that say about the people that keep electing them?

Hopefully the residents of Guam don't have Water Oaks near their houses.

A 30-foot wave is about to hit them. That size wave could consume half the island. I doubt they will have many trees left after

Rocked you like a typhoon doesn't have the same ring to it though.

Friend, oceanographer, was supposed to fly out yesterday morning for there…they cancelled his flight until Thursday. Lots of shite to map now.

Waters represents Watts and Compton.
Asking for a federal investigation into the “assassinations” of Tupac and Biggie gave her props with her constituents.

I looked up to see when the last time Guam was hit. It was in 2002
Typhoon Pongsona
Third lowest recorded atmospheric pressure, after the Typhoon of 1900 and Karen. Typhoon Pongsona also left 65% of the island's water wells inoperable,[13] with most of Guam left without water service following the storm.[14] Officials estimate the typhoon destroyed 1,300 homes, severely damaged 1,825, and lightly damaged 4,800.[15] Damage totaled over $700 million (2002 USD, $1.05 billion 2023 USD).
