If the Declaration of Independence had been signed in 2026 instead of 1776...

These would have been the birth years of the members of the Continental Congress who would have signed the document:

Signing sounds better than being divorced and working at a gas station.

Thune wouldn’t even get it to a vote, and then he would take a 2 week recess while Britain was assembling and positioning forces.
Worst majority leader I have ever seen. A lot of judicial appointments and others are still waiting to be confirmed. The Senate should not have another day off for the rest of the year.

They better get their shite together. Lots of incumbents have been primaried on both sides of the isle. Maybe people have had enough

There wouldn't be a DI. The vast majority of dems and pubs want a king who can wave his hand or sign an order to make laws. The signers of the DI cared about what was happening in their neighbor's backyard. Too much NIMBY/reverse NIMBY for Americans to care.

All the signatures would have been signed by the "Autopen"

The US is not considered an island.

It wouldn't get signed. The Uniparty didn't have a treasury to grift yet. The current "Republicans" would have delayed this while the "Democrats" worked with the British behind the scenes.

The founding fathers should be idolized more than they are. They were true revolutionaries who risked it all.
Its amazing to see how many of those men were in their 30's yet signed one of the most profound documents in world history.

Damn. I’m already older than all but two of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence.

What per cent of the signers would not know script, much less have a signature that was printed by scrawly hand.

Nothing but straight white men. Where is the Diversity and Inclusion? That's why this country is a failure. Too many educated straight white men.

Lots of toxic masculinity in that picture.

Those born past 1985 would have had to have their moms there with them.

Life expectancy was much lower back then. Pretty much anybody who did anything was younger compared to today’s standards.

Leslie Jones would play Ben Franklin in the reimagining

If you survived childhood, your longevity wasn't that much different then than it is now.
