Question 1: Does it have a wadder?
Also, it will never be a Landcruiser so you will feel inadequate.

I had a 1997 Talon back in the day, and it was turbo
Handled everything with a quickness

Do you think the 4Runner is over capacity for a turbo?

If you get a new car every 4 years a turbo is fine

I question a turbocharged engine giving you 10 years and 150000 miles without significant issues

... that is the kind of answer I need

Right now I drive a 2000 4Runner , and like I said I absolutely love my car. I even have Mexicans stalking me when I go to Lowes to buy stuff. They all want to buy my car.
But I did have a Talon turbo and it handled nice, but they don't make those anymore (best car ever built)

LC without the V8 is inadequate

No V6 , big pass. Wind-up 4cyl turbos aren't going to cut it in a vehicle that heavy

If you are buying a new car right now, you are crazy. Pay the mechanic, not the dealer.

Don’t listen to all the fools trashing turbos.

Diesels have been turbo for decades with no problems.

Ford ecoboost v6s have been run hundreds of thousands of miles without trouble.

Plus the Toyota non-turbo v6 is kind of a dog. Has zero low end torque so you really have to wind it out. Yet Toyota has tuned their automatics to upshift at 1100rpms so all you get is gear hunting.

Turbo should be a big improvement.

You are aware that the Land Cruiser had 4 and 6 cylinder engines for most of its history, right?

My parents have a 2006 V6 4RUNNER LTD. Runs like a top, the damn thing is bombproof, hardly a dog. Nothing like the Ecoboost turbo my brother owned, that was branded a lemon and replaced with a V8 F150

I've had a Lexus with the NA v6 and now have a newer Lexus with the turbo 4.

Can confirm powerband of the 4 banger is much better due to the low end torque and it's more efficient.

Another hard pass on the 4 banger.

Toyota was riding the top of the wave and they have really shot themselves in the foot with bad engine decisions on both the Tacoma and Tundra.

Now add the 4 Runner to the list of mistakes.

Heads should roll !!!

Stupid !!!!!

Luckily there was a 17 year period where a V8 was standard on the LC. Toyota/Lexus even made a little badge for the V8.
