Naming a business after yourself - ego move?

Never understood people who do this. Start a business and name it after yourself. The only reason I can gather is to boost your own ego.

This would entirely depend on the service(s) provided by the business.
Making up some weird/cliche’ business name for a single-member LLC offering professional accounting/legal, etc services is strange IMO.

Who gives a shite? It’s actually quite common to start a llc in the persons name. Are you upset they don’t name it after you?

If an electrician starts a company called "Last Name Electrical", you think that would be an ego move? Seems pretty normal to me

Just curious, but what property or creation are you ok with someone’s name appearing?
Can I put my name on legal documents? If that’s ok, why can’t I show others that I stand by business commitments so much, that I will voluntarily attach my own name to the business I started and grew? I was thinking it was a great way to be totally transparent with customers. But it’s ego?

If my name is Mark Brown adn I am a helluva plumber, and I just want to have a family business why not Mark Brown Plumbing? Seems an ego move would be to call it something flashier than it really is.

If you've got a good name, why not?

Accounting and legal services I can understand.
There are many businesses where the owners name is irrelevant to the success of the business. The only reason I can gather is the owner wants personal name recognition.

I think it’s pretty classy. Wish they would go back to the earlier models. _______ and Sons or first two initials and last name and then the type of business you offer.

My take is that you concern yourself with really petty things. This is a foolish thing to be concerned with.
