Brett Favre's longtime home in the Hattiesburg, Mississippi area is on the market, and it is one of the most expensive homes in the state, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Favre, a Kiln, Mississippi native who spent most of his NFL career playing for the Green Bay Packers, has listed his 465-acre property, known as Black Creek Farm, for $14 million, according to the listing on Live Water Properties' website.

For that price, buyers have "an exceptional opportunity to own one of the premier properties in the Pine Belt region," according to the listing.

Can I apply for some COVID relief funds to help cover the down payment?

Shocked he was invited to the draft in Green Bay.....

Brett will never see another endorsement contract so they need to downsize and live off the proceeds from the house.

Wasn't he involved- or accused of- being involved in ripping off some govt money?

Probably none. They used the Medicaid funds to build facilities at Southern Miss that Favre promised as part of his daughter playing volleyball there IIRC.

That house is a lot of work for someone with Parkinson’s.

Mundane trivia: My uncle lived nearby and was a building contractor of some kind who did work on Favre's house. Nothing huge but I do have a couple of concrete rings which were supposedly from that jobsite. Apparently they were supposed to form the base of some columns, although knowing my uncle (RIP in peace), it could have just been rank bullshite.

He was charged in a fraud scandal centered on the misappropriation of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds. Favre "allegedly" received $1.1 million from the non-profit Mississippi Community Education Center (MCEC) for speaking engagements, radio ads, and promotional events between 2017 and 2018. A 2019 state audit found these events never occurred, labeling them “no-show” gigs. After this all came out, Favre repaid the $1.1 million in two payments (2020 and 2021) but is still accused of owing an additional $729,790 in statutory interest.
