That’s what I’m saying. They were always simply called,” Central” until they broke away from BR, incorporated, and called themselves Central City. Same as St. George

Spent much of my childhood there, and loved it. Family had horses, chickens, ducks, geese, and 2 cows on 15 acres. To me, its quiet and peaceful. That's what matters.

If I had the money, I would buy property/house all the way down E Bayou Pkwy/Acacia Dr.
I live close to LJ Alleman in Woodvale/Greenbriar. I wouldn't live anywhere else in the area but that's just me. I'm close to UL, Downtown, Johnston St., River Ranch, and the Oil Center. I can walk to Red's, my church, Veron's, Riverside Pool, and Moncus Park if I wanted too (my kids do all the time). The public school district is good, especially if you can get them in an advanced program.

I'm pretty sure it's called the City of Central, not Central City. Central City is the ghetto neighborhood in New Orleans north of St. Charles around Louisiana Ave.

i mean its a typical upper middle class mainly white suburb with low crime, decent schools, and property isnt as crazy as places in the city and its about 30 min from nola and hour from br.

it's more middle than upper middle

eta: some people on here make it out to be a legit wealthy area and it simply isn't. it has some pockets, yes.

Beau Chene is one of the best and biggest neighborhoods in this state for having non cookie cutter homes

Non cookie cutter, but seems like at least half are old and way outdated.

Ok cool that's fine. The best golf club.

It's not the best fishing area and it can make an argument to be the best hunting area but by no means is it heads snd shoulders above 90% of the land that's north of I-10

When it comes to "fun" activities I prefer the north shore because I'm 3 hours from Destin and some of the best beaches in the world. I can take my kids to lsu baseball games and it's an hour drive home. I'm within an hour of some of the best food in the world and NBA and NFL games and there simply much more to do in Nola.

My sons class took a field trip this year to NASA's stennis space center, my daughters class has a field trip to LSU ag center at the states flagship university.

I stand by my ranking.

We have land in Covington and I love it but I think Madisonville is the best the state has to offer. School is amazing, very conservative leadership, extremely safe and beautiful historic town with a great culture.

Ok bud, in the past 12 months I've been to Hawaii, San Deigo and South Beach. When I lived in Florida I went to the keys 4 times. I've been to Costa Rica and the Bahamas.

If you're argument is that the white sands and emerald water in the Destin area isn't some of the most beautiful beaches in the country then I don't know how to argue with you about anything.

I did say world and I've never been to Thailand and Australia so maybe I should have said Western Hemisphere and I apologize for that. But you're totally right.

West Monroe and the paper mill smell of Monroe kick the shite out of the northshore man. Ruston and its zero bars and average-at-best restaurants blow Mandeville out of the water. Your guys one golf club is way better than going to Saints games, LSU football and baseball games and Pelicans games. Darbonne is way better than Toledo Bend.

Louisiana was like that 40 years ago and probably 100 years ago. Nothing has changed. I lived there in the 80’s and people were leaving then due to crime and politics.

Older homes are part of being non cookie cutter

I would say 75% at this point are updated from the inside. Very very rare to get the opportunity to buy one that’s still not updated. I’m always looking to buy those
