Sure it's already been posted, but whatevs.
Went down a John Gotti rabbithole last night. Is this what slow, creeping death feels like? This is probably as close to horror as real life gets.

Went down a John Gotti rabbithole last night. Is this what slow, creeping death feels like? This is probably as close to horror as real life gets.
quote:
On March 18, 1980, John Gotti's middle son, 12-year-old Frank Gotti, had met with a friend who owned a minibike, who was allowing his friends to take turns borrowing it. When the friend permitted Gotti to take his turn, Gotti took the bike immediately, to the surprise of his friend, who had not yet given his instructions on appropriate handling of the motorized bike. Gotti darted out into the street and was hit by a car driven by John Favara, Gotti's backyard neighbor.[1] Due to Gotti's failure to wait for his friend's tutorial and entering the street at a blind spot, his death was ruled an accident and criminal charges were never filed against Favara. However, Favara subsequently received death threats and was attacked with a baseball bat by Victoria Gotti Senior, the deceased's mother, when Favara visited the Gottis to apologize.
quote:
On July 28, 1980, Favara was abducted and disappeared.[1] According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), before Favara and his family were able to move, he was shoved into a van by several men near his place of business. There were several witnesses to the abduction, and accounts ranged from his being beaten with a baseball bat, shot with a silenced .22 caliber pistol, or both. Accounts differed on what was done with Favara's body. One account said that while Favara was alive, he was dismembered with a chainsaw, stuffed into a barrel filled with concrete and dumped in the ocean, or buried somewhere on the lot of a chop shop.[5]
quote:
After the abduction, Favara's wife and two sons moved out of Howard Beach; Favara was declared legally dead in 1983

That’s what I thought as well

No. The former QB of the Packers.

You'd like to think 4 months would've been plenty of time.

I kill the mobster’s son, I’d have my whole family out of town by sunset.
It was sort of interesting that the showtime show Your Honor set in New Orleans closely resembled the Gotti story.

I understand the grief of a parent who loses a child, but the Gotti family can rot in hell. That poor guy did nothing wrong but likely suffered immensely because Gotti is a sadistic pile of crap.
I hope the rest of Favara's family is safe.

Pretty sure that guy was a dead man walking no matter what. He would've been found and provided the same end.

It’s interesting how we as a society will make movies glamorizing mobsters,
thieves and drug dealers.

This has been openly discussed for decades by a ton of ex Wise Guys.
It was the boy’s mother, Gotti's wife, who told John either he torture Favara to death or he didn’t have any balls.
There are tons of references to it on YouTube interviews with ex mobsters.
Two biggest remaining mob mysteries .... John Favara and Jimmy Hoffa.

If there is any justice in this world, Favara's family would have been allowed to slowly remove her skin with a potato peeler. What a sack of shite.
ETA: Also, in my scenario, Gotti would have been forced to participate in the removal of said skin. After hers was done, his would have been next.

It’s impossible to fathom how much of a sick frick one has to be to partake in this type of killing. Damn.

It wouldn't take me that long. I'd be gone before Gotti found out.
